This should turn into a match between BALLYBOLLEY and Go Conquer, and the former is readily preferred. He has yet to scale the heights he achieved in bumpers since going jumping, finishing well beaten in the Betfair Hurdle three weeks ago, but this represents a golden opportunity for him to get his head back in front. Go Conquer lost his unbeaten record under Rules when running poorly at Bangor and he must bounce back now. Diamond Fizz is the pick of a modest remainder.

AYE WELL has been hit with a 7lb rise for his comfortable success at Wetherby but can defy the assessor and land the hat-trick. He appeared to relish the drying ground at the West Yorkshire track and is tough to oppose in his current mood. Cango has been in terrific form himself and is the likeliest threat to the selection. Kitchapoly also enters calculations, but Forward Flight and Vengeur De Guye need to step forward in order to play a part.

An enthralling race in prospect and a chance for BRISTOL DE MAI to get back on track. A facile winner of a Grade One at Chepstow over the festive period, he then ran a solid race behind a smart pair at Sandown. He will have learned plenty from that contest and can get the better of Glingerburn, who confirmed himself an exciting prospect when landing the Morebattle over track and trip earlier this month. He will find life tougher having to concede weight all round but he's clearly on an upward curve and merits serious respect. Intense Tango landed a Grade Two mares' hurdle at Doncaster and is feared, while Medicine Hat and Chieftain's Choice add further spice to proceedings.

CONJOLA took a big step in the right direction at Newcastle earlier this month, doing well to finish second to Newyearsresolution from off the pace having made a costly error at the second-last. She has gone up 3lb for that effort but can gain a second career success in a race where many have something to prove. Ballyvoque has been in good form this winter and poses the greatest threat to the selection now stepping up in trip. Dun To Perfection, Bollin Fiona and Rinnagree Rosie also enter the reckoning and complete the shortlist.

MAJOR MALARKEY has only been seen sparingly in recent seasons but his effort at Haydock suggests he retains plenty of ability and he looks the one to beat. Railway Dillon was just touched off here last time and heads the dangers, while reliable point-to-point performers Senor Alco and Tommysteel hold solid each-way claims on their return to the track. Bayfirth and War On need to find plenty of improvement and are passed over.
