RED ROCCO can make a winning debut over timber. His last couple of bumper performances for George Moore were most encouraging and he's sure to have done plenty of work in the schooling ring. Like the selection, Caught In The Act and Simply Ned, tackle hurdles for the first time having shaped promisingly in NH flat races and both command respect, while Zaru has the benefit of having already run in this sphere and is certainly no forlorn hope.
Pyjama Game shaped encouragingly on his hurdling debut and should have more to offer, but he may have to give best to Simply Ned, who is taken to make his first start over obstacles a winning one. Fellow bumper recruit Red Rocco can complete the placings.

The Panama Kid won impressively over an extended 2m4f at Perth last time and warrants respect off 9lb higher this afternoon, but LIVELY BARON looks the one to beat on his chasing debut. Barring when getting bogged down at Haydock in February, he has run to a high standard in each start over timer thus far and fences may see him progress to another level. Soft Spoken Guy returns to the scene of his last couple of wins and cannot be ruled out.
The Panama Kid is the one to beat judging by his success at Market Rasen last time, but Lively Baron was progressive over hurdles last season and appeals as one to do better again now switched to fences.

He left his debut performance over hurdles well behind when third under aggressive tactics at Tipperary 11 days ago and he may go two places better if forcing the issue today. Dr Flynn has shown enough in five previous starts over hurdles to suggest that he can go close while course bumper winner Capital Venture is worthy of consideration on his hurdling bow.

The feature race on the card looks extremely competitive. Star Beat ran out an easy winner over C&D some two weeks ago and is theoretically only 5lb higher today with Henry Brooke's claim taken into consideration, while Columbus Secret has easily won his last two starts and commands respect despite a further 13lb rise. The vote, however, goes to FAR MORE SERIOUS, who has run well fresh in the past and represents a stable who can do little wrong at present.
An interesting staying handicap, with a good blend of experience and unexposed types. According To Pete may fall into the former category but he's well handicapped on his best form and, having ended 2010/11 in good heart, he gets the vote here. Far More Serious and Captain Americo represent in-form yards and appeal as the main dangers.

DREAMERS OF DREAMS is an exciting addition to the hurdling game. He confirmed the promise shown on debut when tenaciously landing his bumper over 2m1f at Carlisle in March and stepping up in trip here should see him progress further. It's quite remarkable how high-class chaser Stormin Exit is still a novice over timber and he must rate high on any shortlist, while Milano Supremo wouldn't be without a chance if finding top gear.
Stormin Exit has occasionally been let down by his jumping over the larger obstacles, but should find this a lot less demanding. Royal Deal probably still has more to offer, but hurdling debutant Dreamers of Dreams could pose a bigger threat, especially at this trip.

Soul Magic must be taken seriously having easily completed the four-timer some seven weeks ago, but Cartmel (where each of his four victories have been recorded) form doesn't often stand up elsewhere and BENEFICIAL REFORM is preferred as a result. This exposed gelding has already notched up wins between the flags and over hurdles and makes plenty of appeal tacking fences for the first time here. The Paddy Premium could go close with a clear round.
Whilst the handicapper will catch up with Soul Magic before long, he's difficult to ignore in this company and can get the better of chase debutant Beneficial Reform, who hails from an in-form yard. The Cockney Squire could get an easy lead should he revert to front-running tactics and is also respected.

The lightly raced Tanzanite Bay is interesting on her return to action and could be worth a second look in the betting market but at this stage, the safest option looks to be FUNKY MUNKY. The selection was a good second on the level at Ayr most recently and his previous outing over timber saw him finish second at Perth. He remains handicapped to win races and is preferred to Sedgefield third Sleep In First.
Not much strength in depth and it may pay to take a chance on Border Flora, who could prove to be on a fair mark if straight enough for her reappearance. Fellow potential improver Tanzanite Bay is not without claims either, but Carters Rest could give the selection most to do.
