Franks Fancy defied odds of 40/1 when winning over 2m5f here last month and has since posted a solid placed effort at Carlisle. He and Aloomomo, who also brings winning course form to the table, look to be the main dangers.

Sandy Thomson won this last year and his The Ferry Master ran well following wind surgery when second on his chasing debut at Hexham last month, so is interesting off the same mark in first-time cheekpieces. However, this could be the time to catch SCOTTISH ACCENT, who made a respectable start over the larger obstacles when fifth in that aforementioned Hexham contest. Rebecca Menzies' seven-year-old will appreciate the return to further, with the pick of his hurdles form putting him right in the mix. River Icon was in good form in this sphere in the summer but others look better treated now, while Bako De La Saulaie has undergone a wind operation since finishing third over track and trip last time and represents a team amongst the winners of late.

GREEN ZONE offered some encouragement when second here two weeks ago in a race for conditional riders and could build on that effort with Grant Cockburn now allowed to utilise his 3lb claim. The nine-year-old would appreciate a drying surface and won't mind this shorter trip given that he has been successful over it before.
