With no form to go on here the betting ring should be kept a very closely eye on and any market support should noted. Miss Mesa, C J's Leelee and Racng Quality are expected to go well but the tentative vote goes to DUBIT, who represents this in-form Steve Asmussen yard and has impressed in her workouts so far.
Deaver, Matt'shomekissess and Parting Gesture are the only ones with racecourse experience but they have heardly set the world alight and it could pay to side with a newcomer here. Touch Of Pizzazz is respected but BUDDHA'S MISTIQUE gets the nod as he makes his racecourse debut for the hot Eddie Kenneally yard.
Doctor Jane and Poochies Moccasion filled the runner-up berth last time out and are expected to go well again, along with Lady Hartwood who wasn't far away from landing a double latest. However, GIRLSJUSTWANNAHAVEFUN is used to mixing in better company and it could pay to side with the Cody Autrey-trained filly as she lowers her sights.
The downgraded Royal Dazzle is a contender but she has done her best work on turf and can be taken on with LA BOMBA, who has been knocking on the door since her maiden win and deserves a return to the winner's enclosure. Icu Later was an impressive maiden winner last time out and is far from out of it as she steps up in class here.
PANGBURN recorded the highest last speed figure when just failing to land a double and it would be no surprise to see him bounce back with the in-form Rafael Bejarano in the saddle. Gretchen's Star, Come On Chas and Demeteor are all dangers but the consistent Shaky Town, who rarely runs a bad race, looks the biggest threat.
A highly competitive heat in which few can be ruled out. Ballymore Lady and Essential Edge have done enough to suggest they could go close in this company but it's difficult to look beyond the returning MAKDERAH. She was narrowly denied when filling the runner-up berth in a Group 3 in England in August and although well beaten in Group 2 company when last seen, her form sets the standard here and a big run can be expected.
MARQUEE DELIVERY made a very pleasing return to action over this track and trip earlier in the month and, with that run likely to have freshened her up, it would be no surprise to see her go one better. Comedy is also likely to strip fitter for her recent outing but she has a bit to prove following that disappointing run. Star Of Luvina is one to note in the betting on her racecourse bow.
There is sure to be plenty of support for High Cotton, a Grade 3 winner last year, but his best efforts have come over a route trip. FIRST WORD was comfortably the fastest last time out when scoring over 6.5f here, that was back in October but this may not be as tough and he has a 50 percent strike-rate at ths distance. First Word and Vicarage complete the short-list.
CLOUDY'S KNIGHT arrives here on top of his game and rates the selection. James McMullen's charge landed a Grade 3 event before just missing out in a Grade 2 contest latest and his record at this distance (two wins from four) suggests the step up in trip won't be a problem. Last year's Belmont Stakes winner Jazil will play a big part in this contest if taking to turf, while Ascertain looks the best of the remainder.
Following a highly impressive maiden victory, PLEASANT STRIKE ran a good sixth in a higher grade last time out and the progressive colt could take some beating in this company. Lattice is open to any amount of improvement after scoring on his racecourse debut and cannot be ruled out, while March To Victory drops in grade but has a little bit to find.
