A good-looking contest with several promising contenders and a chance is taken with STRONG REBEL, who failed to build on previous promise when disappointing at Chepstow. However, he was going well when falling the time before at Cheltenham and had accounted for Moscow Catch (winner twice since) at Perth previously. Hopefully, he can regain that form here. Cloudy Times has some excellent NH flat form to his name and could be an exciting recruit to hurdling but on this occasion it could pay to stay with the more experienced LITTLE JOSH. The Twiston-Davies charge followed up a second to the highly-regarded Pride Of Dulcote with an effortless stroll against modest rivals at Lingfield and looks a useful performer in the making. Ernst Blofeld is certainly worth noting on his hurdling debut, with Secret Tune also looking likely to get in the shake-up.

Issaquah and his young rider (stable conditional) looked an effective combination when dominating what seemed to be a competitive hurdle field at Kelso last time and can follow up here despite what seems to be a harsh 15lb rise. The mare won with real authority and could be one to follow, although this is the toughest company she has encountered. Edas is a threat after a pleasing return to hurdles action when third to European Dream, with Ayr winner, Prosecco, and the consistent Miss Pross not ruled out.

KALAHARI KING has been strongly touted as a leading Arkle contender and will need to give weight away here to justify those expectations. He has certainly looked an impressive novice in his two chasing wins to date, notably when outpacing the useful Shatabdi (winner since) at Leicester. He is likely to be given a stern test by Stumped, an excellent second on his chasing debut to Role On at Carlisle, especially as Henry Daly's charge receives 10lb. The consistent Doctor David is next best.

A cracking contest that should tell us how good the promising Tazbar is. He looked potentially top-class last season at one stage but has cut little ice in two recent Flat outings and is best watched. The vote is awarded to HIBIKI, just touched off in a hot heat at Ascot last time. He is up 4lb for that effort but his talented young rider claims a valuable 7lb here and conditions are ideal. Helens Vision outpointed Khyber Kim at Newbury and looks an improved sort. She is a major danger.

Sooner or later Idle Talk is likely to land a good prize but he has to concede plenty of weight to some useful sorts here. BEGGARS CAP looked a young chaser of some potential last term, but then produced two very disappointing performances (pulled-up) before rediscovering his form at Mussleburgh last time. He is up 7lb for that cosy win but there looked to be plenty more to come and he'll have no trouble with prevailing conditions. Polar Gunner is in good heart but Wetherby is his preferred venue, although he should still go well. Coach Lane has chances at his best, with Almaydan not ruled out despite topweight.
