The consistent PERSIAN PERIL can land his third course victory this afternoon. He arguably produced his best effort yet when runner-up over 1m4f at Thirsk ten days ago and today's forecast soft ground shouldn't cause any problems as he won on heavy here back in July '08. The hat-trick seeking Judicious warrants the utmost respect, while Alsahil won gamely on his comeback run at York nine days ago and is entitled to strip fitter now.
York-winner Alsahil and the thriving Judicious will be popular, but the vote goes to the unexposed Snow Hill, who had four next-time-out winners behind him at Windsor last time.

It will be interesting to see how Blue Tiger, well fancied when unseating his rider in the stalls at Thirsk latest, reacts to the application of a visor today, but JAY BEE BLUE edges the vote. He wasn't at all disgraced when sixth on his racecourse debut over this trip at Redcar 17 days ago and that experience should stand him in good stead now. Tayla's Storm appears to be heading the right way and has outside claims.
Jay Bee Blue made an encouraging debut and wouldn't need to improve much to take this. Blue Tiger has been expensive to follow in his relatively short career so far, but is clearly thought to be capable of better and could show more now in a visor. The selection's stablemate Anton Chigurh could prove the pick of the newcomers.

IDOLS EYE appears to have been found a fantastic opportunity to open her account. The best of her four efforts thus far came when third over 7f at Lingfield last week and dropping down to the minimum trip should help this aggressive runner. Annie Beach is entitled to have learnt a great deal from her debut fourth at Redcar and is most feared, while Sheer Vanity hails from a yard that does particularly well with their juvenile runners.
Idols Eye sets the standard but there's a good chance she'll prove vulnerable over 5f, and Annie Beach could improve past her to get off the mark at the second time of asking. Newcomer Sheer Vanity has been found a very winnable opportunity and would be interesting if backed.

Field Of Dream is of huge interest dropping down from Group company, but FIREBEAM looks the one to beat. William Haggas' progressive gelding built on his all-the-way York success when third in a decent handicap over 6f at Ascot latest and, with no other obvious pacesetters in this race, he could make the most of a soft lead. Al Aasifh has run well in a couple of conditions races this year and is certainly no forlorn hope.
The recently-gelded Toolain is the strict form pick, but Firebeam may be the one with the most potential, and can get back on track returned to 7f. Field of Dream will find this easier than recent assignments, and isn't out of things.

Jupiter Fidius has been knocking on the door over shorter trips recently and should figure prominently again if seeing this out, but BROUHAHA looks the most likely winner. He found only the progressive Shesha Bear (who has won again since) too good over an extended 1m4f at Epsom latest and a repeat performance would make him difficult to beat. Redcar winner Black Coffee is another whom cannot be left out of calculations.
With neither Brouhaha nor Jupiter Fidius exactly prolific, this looks best left to recent winner Black Coffee, who remains well treated on his best polytrack efforts.
He has won three times from 1m 1f to 1m 4f on good and good to soft ground and on the all-weather. A winner at 11-4 at Windsor over 1m 4f (good to soft) on his latest outing last month, beating Ede's Dot Com by 3/4l.

It could pay to side with AEGEAN DESTINY in an open looking finale. She won nicely off a 6lb lower mark on soft ground at Newcastle latest (over an extended 1m4f) and teams up with one of the best amateur riders available in Simon Walker today. Other last time out winners Waahej and Maybeme are respected while Amir Pasha, Drawn Gold and Mustajed add extra spice to the race.
A very competitive amateur event that can see Waahej follow up his Windsor success. The normally consistent pair of Amir Pasha and Dancing Primo are likely to be thereabouts as well.
