JUMEIRAH GLORY ticks plenty of boxes in what is a select but competitive three-year-old handicap. The sole C&D winner in the field, Richard Fahey's son of Fast Company showed his battling qualities when getting the better of a smart Charlie Appleby filly here in May and a 10lb rise in the weights is probably fair given the runner-up has since exploited a mark of 83 with any amount in hand at Chester. Appleby may therefore know where he stands with Subcontinent, who is probably not done improving yet judged on his latest second-placed effort at Doncaster, while Hakka could be anything following his taking maiden success at Wolverhampton last month.

Top Tip: Jumeirah Glory (4)
Watch out for: Hakka (5)

Hard to see past HAKKA, who has made a most promising start to his career and can make it 2 wins on the bounce if lasting out over this longer trip. Subcontinent would be interesting if getting an easy lead, while the form of Jumeirah Glory's C&D success in May has been franked and he could figure.

The race revolves around the hat-trick-seeking Miss Marjurie and the form of her latest C&D triumph in the Group 3 Pinnacle Stakes. An impressive winner at Goodwood on her reappearance, she showed the benefit of having that sighter under her belt when accounting for Criteria, Lady Tiana, Lustrous and QUEEN OF ICE here in May and another bold performances beckons. Preference, however, is for William Haggas' charge who, on her return from 246 days off the track, raced freely under Pat Cosgrave and paid the price inside the final two furlongs where she weakened having attempted to make all. The daughter of Selkirk remains open to stacks more improvement over this trip and she progressed notably towards the back end of last season, beating Jordan Princess at Newmarket and Arabian Comet at York. She's entitled to have come forward for her reappearance and is worth another chance.

Watch out for: Miss Marjurie (8)

LADY TIANA finished with running left behind Miss Marjurie in the Pinnacle Stakes over C&D last time having conceded first run, and could be worth chancing to confirm that promise with victory over her old rival now. Jordan Princess is another to consider in a wide-open renewal of this Group 2.

Mark Johnston fires a couple of interesting arrows at the target and his Watersmeet ran well for a long way when fifth in the Duke Of Edinburgh handicap, while stablemate Notarised shaped like a non-stayer in the Northumberland Plate last weekend and could improve for the return to 1m4f. Battersea was progressive over this trip last term and merits a market check on his return to action, likewise Excellent Result, who boasts winning Group 2 form over this distance in Meydan. Preference, however, is for PENHILL, who hasn't settled properly the last twice but has still improved for the switch to Luca Cumani's stable judging by his reappearance success at Ascot. A mark of 93 remains exploitable if he can settle better in this larger field. Farquhar beat the selection at HQ last year and could be one to interest each-way punters as he's entitled to build on his comeback performance at Ascot in a steadily-run contest that wasn't run to suit.

Watch out for: Farquhar (7)

PENHILL hails from a yard who have won this 4 times since 1997, and looks primed for a big run after his impressive Ascot win first time up this season and an excusable effort since at Newmarket. He's just preferred to Battersea, who starts out in 2015 with an air of unfinished business about him, and Epsom winner Elbereth.

A competitive heat in which most of the runners have a little to prove. David O'Meara won this contest two years ago with Louis The Pious and looks to have realistic claims with ALGAR LAD. The selection took a step up to 6f in his stride when scoring at York during the Dante meeting and although he was soundly beaten in a messy Wokingham last time, he's the form horse in the race and could be the safest option. C&D winners Intibaah and Musical Comedy are others unlikely to be far away.

NEW STRATEGY bounced back from a disappointing Doncaster performance when chasing home a Mark Johnston inmate over 7f at Leicester. He travelled powerfully for much of that race, only to fade away late on, and trying his hand at sprinting for the first time could work out very much in his favour. It's also worth noting that cheekpieces are refitted. Sydney Ruffdiamond won going away over the minimum trip at Redcar so stepping back up to 6f is unlikely to pose him any problems, while Flexible Flyer and Red Harry are other in-form players with solid claims.
