Verdict

Competitive start to the meeting with a few with improvement to come and well-bred first-timers. BABYLON has fair Highveld form, was a bit unlucky last time and could get the job done but races prior and that run needs to be watched. PALACE REVOLT has run two good races in a row and if overcoming his wide gate and taking to the poly will be a serious contender. ABADDON was unlucky not to win on debut and the form has been franked with the winner of that race winning a handicap in good style. VICTOR RAIL and POTENT CAPTAIN have drawn well and may also make a race of it.

Verdict

QUENTASIA caught the eye last time and both runs on the poly have been good. She should relish the distance and have every chance. STATUS QUO came in for decent betting support on debut and showed pace before tiring. She could be looking for the poly surface and having drawn well needs to be taken seriously. AN AIR OF PRIDE disappointed in her last two after showing up well second time out. She has the best of the draws and can take advantage. Verdict

It could be best to go a bit wide in exotics. VENERABLE wasn't beaten far in a handicap last time and again has a 4kg apprentice claim. He should take advantage especially as he has drawn a lot better. DYNALLEY has the best of the draws after also drawing quite wide in his previous start. He has shown fair potential on the turf and could be even better on this surface. GIVE US A SMILE may have done a bit much in the early stages when racing on soft ground last time. He can improve. REACH FORTHE STARS, POWER STAR and MAYOR OF MERRIVALE need to be respected.

Verdict

FLIGHT DISPLAY has been getting better with each start. She runs on really well but tends to hang out and is obviously still learning what it is all about. She looks to have a big chance against this field. LEMON SCENT didn't mind a drop in distance almost winning her last start with a cast shoe. She has drawn well again and could be dangerous if taking to the poly. If LADY IS A CHAMP can repeat her penultimate effort she could also be right up there. She is not the most consistent but the yard is in good form. BALLYCOTTON and MYSTIQUE ROUGE can earn.

Verdict

JUST VIRGINIA is capable but inconsistent. She has drawn well and could dictate the pace. BLAZING ASTUTE's last run on the turf is best forgotten. She impressed coming from off the pace on the poly prior and could get the race run to suit again. Highveld raiders PRETTY IN PEARLS and SKYFULL have run some decent races recently. The former has the better gate but will need to step up on her previous poly runs. LADY CANTON didn't disgrace herself in her first run out of maiden company and has drawn well so should have every chance. ENGLISH PRIMROSE is dangerous on the poly.

Verdict

SYX HOTFIX is getting better as he matures and could shake off another hike in ratings to complete a hat-trick, but interestingly he has yet to win over 1800m. PEWTER SKY could be hard to fend off carrying 6,5kg less and rates a big danger. He is versatile as he enjoys both turf and poly. WARRIOR BLING suddenly impressed over the track and trip last time. If in the same mood he can follow up as he has drawn well. SHOEFELLA had too much to do in his last start and that run is best forgiven. CHEROKEE TRAIL loves this track but has a wide draw.

GIMME A RAINBOW looks well-placed. He produced a good run from a wide draw last time and must be able to go better from a handy gate. However, he is carded to race before this. If ESQUEVELLE gets to the front from his wide gate with no issues he could just follow up. A 4kg apprentice claim boosts his chances.
