Verdict

MCCARTNEY looks well placed on his Polytrack debut. He was third in a competitive race last time and that kind of form should be good enough. KING'S SPEAR gave weight to the winners when second in his last two on the surface. His last run on the turf is best ignored and he should have every chance. WORD FOR WORD has also gone close at the course but is racing after a rest and may just need it. Still, he needs to be taken seriously. NDABEZITHA and LADY CHOCOLAT have shown pace and have definite earning potential, but GERONIMO could be quickest early and will keep them honest.

Verdict

JOHNNY'S HOPE must surely have a big chance of getting his head in front after finishing second in his last two. He has the best of the draws and can time his run right. CORSICAN took a few strides to get into the hunt but it was an encouraging run nonetheless. He knows the trip now and could challenge for the win. IMAGINABLE made a fair debut when third behind a facile winner. He has stamina on his pedigree and should enjoy the longer distance. PARIS PIKE and MANIC MONDAY ran better races recently and need to find a little more to earn better prizes.

BLACKWHITEDYNAMITE is back over his best course and distance and may improve coming from off the pace. PATRONAGE held form in a stronger race last time. His 1.5kg claim could give him the assistance needed. GENTLEMAN'S WAY won his penultimate well and his last run on turf is best ignored. Verdict

SHELL SEEKER didn't go on with it when appearing to have every chance but should enjoy a faster pace here and deserves another go. BIRDWATCHER is capable of a big finish especially if the pace is on and is in good form. She could record a form win. However both mentioned are dropping in distance and need to watch out for FLYING THE STAR and METEORIC who have the pace to keep going and have drawn well. SNOW TUNE improved last time and could make further progress. Interestingly her merit rating was dropped. BADRAH and BLUSH OF DAWN could threaten at best.

Verdict

Tough race - almost all are capable of pulling it off. TOTO looks an interesting entry. She has run well in some fair races and could be looking for the poly. MVULAZANA is a bit unexposed with the four-year-old having only raced seven times. She has not drawn badly and is one to watch, even if racing after a rest. MAGNA MATER showed good pace on her poly debut over 1600m. She could prefer this shorter trip. STAR CHOICE and BOLDLY GO have run well in stronger races and could show them how it is done. SECOND BREATH could be anything this track and trip.
