Verdict

NDAKA is holding form and would be deserving. He has run some fair races at Scottsville and may just prefer the Greyville track where he could get a less hurried pace. Stable mate RAINBOW SPIRIT is still learning what it is all about and has drawn best again. He has shown good pace over 1200m and could take full advantage over the minimum distance. SOWETO ROSE looked the likely winner until caught and the rain affected track may have spoiled things for him last time. He can make amends. VEGAS GOLD can show his best now gelded. IRON BARK isn't out of it either.

Verdict

ANOTHER LOVE blew the field away last time. She was super impressive and the handicapper has taken notice and upped her rating considerably. She could shrug that off and win again. EAGER DUCHESS found ANOTHER LOVE too good but is now 3,5kg better off for that 3.60 length beating and could put up a fight. STAR CHOICE has been running on well and just needs to time it right. She could get a better pace and, considering the weight she is carrying, may give fellow strong finisher ANOTHER LOVE a task. BOLDLY GO brings Western Cape form and has drawn best.

Verdict

RED SOLE is a different horse after gelding. He was a close second behind a feature raced sort after showing very little in Cape Town. He can go one better in his second try over course and distance from the best of the draw. SIYA VUMA looks a big threat. This Ideal World gelding was an eye catching second in a race that has already produced two subsequent winners. He is a youngster who may prove equally effective on the turf. MIGHTY MASHONA was also not far off on debut and could come on in leaps and bounds. First timers in it as well.

Verdict

GALABIER has been off for 262 days, but is the one to watch. He showed promise as a three-year-old on debut but has a wide draw to overcome. AIRWAYS LAW was flying at the finish after sitting near last on the poly on debut. He could show a lot more with experience gained, despite switching from poly to turf. ARUMUGAM has decent form and should be ready to win, but has drawn wide alongsides GALABIER. Verdict

Another tough race. DEEP GLOBAL ran a fair race in his penultimate, but that form line has not worked out too well. He has room for improvement and did have a valid excuse last time. VICTORY TWIST has drawn well and has scope. He won his maiden in good style and could make a successful handicap debut. IN AURO is the track specialist and the few points he has dropped in ratings could be all it takes to see him in the winner's enclosure again. A WHOLE NEW WORLD races for a stable in good form and needs to be respected along with MAMBO SYMPHONY.

Verdict

GIACOMO PUCCINI finished ahead of a horse that has come out to win easily since. It was his local debut after a rest and he is expected to make further improvement. One to beat. HOOVES OF TROY was a promising second to a classy individual in his penultimate but then finished behind GIACOMO PUCCINI. He is better off at the weights and can get closer. RAMCHANDANI ROAD would be deserving after being runner-up in his last three. He has good early speed. SPRING HIGH and PRINCE OF TARANTO are useful and need to be considered for trifectas and quartets.
