A 5lb rise in the weights for Mons Calpe's narrow victory at Bath last time looks harsh but he does have the assistance of the able Simon Walker in the plate and shouldn't be too far away again. However, there is plenty to like about the chances of ARAGALL, who followed his comfortable Nottingham success with a good runner-up effort at Ffos Las when last seen in July and there should be more races to be won with him. Recent course second Megalala completes the shortlist.
Aragall hasn't taken long to find his feet for George Baker since coming over from Germany, giving the strong impression that he would be every bit as good over this extra 1f when runner up at Ffos Las in July and is taken to add to his winning tally. Mons Calpe and Eseej look the most likely threats.

A few choicely-bred newcomers of interest, not least the John Gosden-trained trio Song Of India, Umseyat and Wild Mimosa. Clarinette is another who fills the eye on paper but experience can hold sway and POPLIN gets the vote. Luca Cumani's filly stepped up in her Nottingham debut when finishing a close third in a decent Kempton maiden two weeks ago and she sets the standard on that form. Of the others, dual runner-up Humdrum has to be respected although she does need to improve in order to open her account in a maiden such as this.
Plenty of well-bred newcomers in attendance, notably Always The Lady and the Gosden trio, headed by Song of India. However, they will have to be above average to deny the more-experienced Poplin from opening her account. Humdrum is another who won't be far away if making the expected improvement at this longer trip.

Foaled 7 Feb. Placed once in five starts. Beaten 14l behind Murbeh at 80-1 when 12th of 16 on his latest outing at Ripon over 6f (good) last month.
Any number of potential improvers on show here but with the John Gosden team in such sparkling form at present, preference is for the more exposed LIBERTY CAP, who has been knocking hard on the door of late and turned in another cracking effort when second at Windsor last time. The application of blinkers looks a wise move and he is taken to see off Indigo Way, a winner at Doncaster last time, and Flodden, who makes his handicap debut off an interesting mark.
Plenty to consider but Sixty Roses could be the one having caught the eye in a big way at Salisbury last time. Last-time-out winners Indigo Way and Handsome Jack have to be of interest on their handicap debut, as does Flodden, and the betting could offer more clues.

Titus Mills is clearly held in some regard judged by the number of high-profile late-season entries to his name and there was plenty to like about the way he powered home to open his account at the first time of asking at Ascot. He seems sure to improve and deserves this step up in class but BIG ISSUE improved on the form of his Salisbury maiden success when finishing a fine third in the Group 3 Tower Stakes at the Curragh and he looks the one to beat. Trade Storm has proved most consistent and his chance should not be underestimated following a highly respectable effort in the Gimcrack last month.
Big Issue and Surrey Star set a useful standard on their respective thirds in Group 3s last time, but Titus Mills looks open to plenty of improvement and can take the step up in class in his stride.

Longliner should be up to winning an ordinary run of the mill maiden but NERVES OF STEEL made a debut full of promise when finishing a fine second at Folkestone a week ago and with that initial experience under his belt, this son of Oratorio is fancied to go one better today. Sentosa was well backed on debut and is surely capable of better than what she produced on that occasion.
Longliner has been expensive to follow but gets one last chance here having been gelded. Nerves of Steel may have to settle for second again, while Kashmiriana and Sentosa seem sure to leave their debut efforts behind in due course.

A competitive looking affair on paper but DABOOS made the perfect start to his racing career when winning in impressive fashion at Folkestone and he looks one to keep on the right side. A beautifully-bred son Mr Greeley, a mark of 79 looks more than manageable and he is fancied to see off the well drawn C&D winner Salient and recent scorer Giften Apakay.
Daboos is pitched straight into handicap company on his second start and looks the type to improve considerably on his debut win at Folkestone. He's selected in advance of Ed Dunlop's improving Gifted Apakay and last year's runner-up Effigy.
