The majority of Mothill's best performances have come with some ease in the surface so the forecast ground conditions may be less than ideal. That said, the form of his Chepstow second was boosted when the third won last month so it would be unwise to rule him out. However, a chance is taken on hurdling debutant HILLTOWN, who won a point-to-point at Larkhill in February before displaying significant promise in his two subsequent bumper runs. Sublime Heights has been knocking on the door of late and is another to consider.
MOTHILL is going the right way and is taken to gain compensation for his latest near miss at Chepstow, form which has been boosted by the third winning since. Sublime Heights is the obvious danger.

SOLDIER OF LOVE took on some talented chasers back in 2020, showing progressive form, and despite not matching those exploits subsequently, the Paul Nicholls-trained nine-year-old, who races in blinkers for the first time, looks to have found a good opportunity. West Approach is next best on the figures and can pose a bigger threat than Tel'art, who has a bit to find on these terms.
Although his recent efforts have been uninspiring, it's probably worth chancing that Soldier of Love can bounce back returned to calmer waters. West Approach is the likelier of the remaining pair if the selection isn't on his game.

A small turnout and after a staying-on third at Chepstow on his latest outing, Midnight Centurion holds solid claims now moving back up in trip. However, he may have his work cut out against Nicky Henderson's HYLAND, who shaped better than the bare result may suggest when filling the same position at Warwick on his most recent run. Course winner Carolines Charm wasn't at his best at Wincanton on his return last month but, with that run under his belt, he cannot be discounted either.
HYLAND is fancied to resume winning ways now he reverts to a longer trip having stuck on really well for third over 19f at Warwick. Midnight Centurion will also benefit from this stiffer test of stamina and should ensure Nicky Henderson's improver doesn't have things all his own way.
