PALMETTE made a very pleasing debut when a close second to Tickled Pink at Yarmouth earlier this month and she is expected to improve for that experience, so is taken to go one better this afternoon. Al Janadeirya was a little below par at Newmarket last month but her previous form would give her each-way claims here. However, Byton has shaped nicely on her two outings to date and she could pose the main danger to John Gosden's filly.
The impeccably-bred Palmette shaped like a certain future winner when runner-up on debut at Yarmouth recently and can make the most of a good opportunity, possibly at the expense of Byton and Al Janadeirya.

The Sixties was far from disgraced in the Chesham Stakes at Royal Ascot last week and he must be respected here, along with Super Simon, who has shaped encouragingly on both of his runs to date. However, they come up against a couple of interesting newcomers in Age Of Bronze and OVERCOAT. Any confidence behind Richard Hannon's contender would be a big positive but slight preference is for Godolphin's Echo Of Light colt.
Age of Bronze, Overcoat and Rio Cato are newcomers that could easily have a say in matters, but The Sixties and Super Simon set a fair standard, the former just preferred after running really well at Royal Ascot last weekend.

SILENZIO hinted at a return to top form when third over 6f at Salisbury earlier this month and he has now dropped to 1lb lower than his last winning handicap mark, so he could take plenty of beating here if putting his best foot forward. Sandbetweenourtoes is unexposed and it would be no surprise to see him take a hand in the finish, while Midnight Feast could also take a hand if bouncing back to his best.
Beat The Bell makes the most appeal at these weights and can prove too strong for Haadeeth, who is expected to fare much better back on a sounder surface.

WE HAVE A DREAM posted his best effort this year when third at Windsor last week and he has to be of interest here as he has four wins from six attempts over this C&D, including in this race last year off a 2lb higher mark. Flynn's Boy performed with credit in a well-contested Yarmouth handicap last time and he has solid each-way prospects. Kempton maiden winner Poole Harbour is an interesting contender on his handicap debut while Ginger Ted is beginning to look very nicely handicapped and the application of a visor could help spark a revival.
Arctic Lynx didn't get the breaks at Newmarket last month and is taken to gain compensation, despite a further 5 lb rise in the weights. Poole Harbour is greatly feared if translating his latest improved AW effort back to turf, while Slip Sliding Away and last year's winner We Have A Dream also make some appeal for place purposes.

Alfraamsey is in terrific form at present and there appears no obvious reason why he will not be thereabouts once more. Saborido is fairly handicapped on his best form and he has winning form over this C&D so he is worthy of consideration, along with Native Colony, but the verdict goes to CLOWANCE HOUSE. He scored over hurdles earlier this month and he has to be of interest off a 12lb lower mark than when he last competed on the level.
Clowance House is leniently treated on his belated Flat return and is well worth chancing after breaking his hurdling duck in a tongue strap earlier this month. Alfraamsey continues to go the right way and may prove a bigger threat than the returning Native Colony.

Young Jackie (engaged to run at Yarmouth on Thursday) stepped up on her previous form to finish runner-up over 1m2f at Yarmouth last time and she has solid claims if building on that. Screaming Brave won over hurdles earlier this month and he makes plenty of appeal back on the Flat today.
Pindar ought to go well again if seeing out this longer trip, but preference is for Screaming Brave, who has no stamina worries and comes here in good heart following a recent win over timber. Taqaat may fare best of the rest.

WATHEEQ got the better of Fennell Bay on his handicap debut at Haydock last month and given that rival's subsequent wins at Salisbury and Royal Ascot, a 5lb rise for that looks very fair. He is fancied to follow up here, possibly at the main expense of Whitby Jet who has been knocking on the door of late. Laverre (engaged to run at Yarmouth on Thursday) has been raised 4lb for her Pontefract win earlier this month but she still merits respect, while the application of blinkers could help Emperor Vespasian.
Watheeq is by far the least exposed of these and is a strong fancy to follow up his recent Haydock win. Laverre, Whitby Jet and Foxhaven can fight it out for the places.
