A pretty uninspiring maiden kicks off the card with NORTHERN GAL afforded a tentative nod after finishing runner-up in September. Midsummer Delight and Birkenhead drop in grade and are feared most.
KIM ran on to claim runner-up spot over a sharper trip last month and can go one better now granted a stiffer test. The selection doesn't look one for maximum faith, though, and any market support behind the newcomers Mary's Legacy and Spicy Legs would heighten their appeal.
Perhaps it is worth taking a chance on PRIDE OF PARIS, who lowers her sights and steps up in trip after a couple of disappointing efforts. Another Flower looks the most attractive alternative to the selection after a pair of decent attempts in defeat, and Lions Summit can pick up some minor honours if building on the promise of her latest performance.
ZABAIONE drops massively in grade here as he has been contesting, and going well in, $75,000 allowance races recently. He was only beaten a head when third in that higher grade at Belmont back in May, since then he has put in some mixed performances but by no means has he been out of form. Battle Notes looks his biggest danger following a narrow defeat here last month, while Unbridled Band is the pick of the rest.
STRAIGHT BITE was beaten less than a length when fourth in a higher grade at Presque Island Downs last time out, prior to that he impressively won two races in this grade over similar trips to this here. Copper Forest has won both his last two starts over trips of around 1m here and he can go well along with Jolson.
ECOACH has a fantastic record at this track, she has won 11 of his 27 starts here and has placed on seven further occasions. This is not a strong race and this mare looks sure to be thereabouts once again. Red Light Runner and Fly To The Sky look the pick of the remainder.
A number of factors conspired against LARA last time, but she is dropped markedly in class now and looks the one to side with. Wiseman's Fate has been holding her form well and won't be far away, while Comity holds solid place claims.
WEST SEDONA could hardly have been more impressive when scampering four lengths clear of his rivals over track and trip last time. A repeat of that performance will make him tough to beat, so Giant Finish and Carrio may be playing for the silver medal spot.
MATT AND JESSE pulled clear with the winner when beaten a nose over course and distance last month. That form sets a good standard and he rates a confident selection. Noble Doss and Motion To Appeal arrive in good heart and are the pick of the opposition.
