Verdict

Watch the betting on the newcomers as it is a weak race and they could win if they have any real ability. ECHOES OF WINTER has been a disappointment of late but does show pace and could be course-and-distance suited. LADYHAWKE has improved of late but it could be significant that stable jockey for Alan Greeff, Greg Cheyne, will aboard SUGARBERRY. TUFAAN is clearly far better than her last run would suggest and should go close to winning. VANADIUM is improving and is another to give the utmost respect.

Verdict

TRACY'S PRINCESS only found one better on debut and in a weak race she does look the one to beat. MAKE IT HAPPEN has probably been at her best over a bit further than this but should be at the finish once again. GAILIEA has been unreliable but has done well around this course and distance and has a winning chance. SOCIAL SPIRIT and A FOREIGN AFFAIR probably have to find a few lengths to win the race but are quite capable of taking home some minor stake.

Verdict

Trainer Gavin Smith holds a very strong hand in this race. V V POWER is in good form but does run on Friday so that run needs to be looked at. TRUMPS EXPRESS likes the Polytrack and has been threatening to win a race all season. The third of Smith-trained runners, LILY OF ORANGE, was disappointing on the turf last time out but is better on this surface and would not be a surprise winner. MY LORD AND MASTER is consistent without winning but also runs on Friday 27 May and that run must be checked out.

Verdict

A competitive race. MAGIC MOMENTS may have done too much too soon on her local debut and if smarter this time could be the one they all have to catch. GIFT OF GIVING is improving and only found one too good last time out and should be right there. SUGAR SNAP tries the longer distance and that could suit. Stable companion from the Alan Greeff yard, WILDEST DREAMS, has stable jockey Greg Cheyne aboard and although this filly has been a disappointment we must take note of that winning combination.

Verdict

GOLIGHTLY is unbeaten in two starts over this course and distance and has been in really good form since joining trainer Alan Greeff but will be giving weight to all her rivals. SULTANAH is better than what she has shown of late and it is possible she needed both her recent runs. GLOBAL GODDESS has made the trip from the Western Cape so clearly her trainer believes she has a winning chance. TAMIL TIGER is in good form and her trainer Gavin Smith is on a serious mission to be Eastern Cape Champion Trainer once again.

A tough race to find the winner and the advice is to go wide as possible in the exotics. DUKE OF ORANGE looks to be improving and has a winning chance. VIDA FUTURA makes his local debut so deserves respect. TICKET TO RIDE has good form since joining trainer Zietsman Oosthuizen and is course-and-distance suited.
