Verdict

TARA ITI was a bit disappointing last time but his form before that suggests he does have a winning chance on local debut after a stable change. Trainer Gavin Smith has a strong hand but as usual the question has to be asked which of his runners will actually win. Watch the betting. TRUMPS EXPRESS has been close-up in his last two starts and has a winning chance. Stable companions CASHING IN has been disappointing of late but can surprise. STAR EFFECT is the third of Smith's runners and he should do a lot better than his most recent effort.

Verdict

NORTON SOUND has been pretty impressive of late and although trying the Polytrack this time he should prove hard to beat. Trainer Justin Snaith has sent two runners from the Western Cape to take him on and they deserve some respect. YOU KNOW WHO quickened nicely to win his latest start and jumping from pole position should be a danger. Stable companion DEBONAIR has done well on a soft track so could enjoy the Polytrack. SAFARI BLUE needs to do more to win but could earn some money. SON OF ZEUS has finished well behind NORTON SOUND in the past but has at least won on this surface.

A tough race to be confident about. RAROTONGA was a disappointment last time but has a winning chance on previous form. LADY ISABELLA ran a much-improved race recently and is not out of it. EMPRESS KI makes her debut and the betting will be a good guide on her winning chance. LAURETTA MIA is clearly a lot better than her last run would suggest and she could bounce back to score. LA DUCHESSE is a bit unreliable but could like stepping up to this course and distance. CANA is course-and-distance suited and is not out of it. Verdict

Another open-looking race so go wide in the exotics. SWEET THE SOUND has been consistent and has an obvious winning chance. DIAMONDS AND TOADS took many runs to break through and score but seems to have improved since then and must be considered. EUROPEANA has been a disappointment but drops in class and does have a winning chance if showing her best side trying the Polytrack. AFRICAN HOOPOE tended to race green early in her career but has put that behind her of late so could have further improvement to come.

Verdict

A cracking field and clearly the highlight of the card. GLOBAL DRUMMER was a bit disappointing last time but probably could have done better if ridden with his usual aggression. MARMARA SEA is back on his favourite surface and does look the one they all have to beat. EARTH HOUR has beaten MARMARA SEA so must be considered, even if his last two runs were disappointing. WILD COAST has not run on the Polytrack but Snaith Racing know what they are doing so he has to be considered. BLINGKING and OSCAR WILDE are two decent back-up options for trainer Alan Greeff.
