Verdict

LEMME GO has been a bit of a disappointment in that she is stuck in the maiden ranks. She has joined trainer Kelly Mitchley. It would not be a surprise were she to win this race. GLOBAL MARK has battled to finish off his races but does hold a winning chance. GLOBETONIC only got going when the race was over on debut. If smarter this time he should be right there at the finish. AIMEE'S IDOL was not disgraced on debut and should improve so must be considered as well.

I'M IN LOVE was consistent without winning in Gauteng and if running to that level of form could break the duck on local debut. MI MI APPLE PIE has been consistent of late and could contest the finish once again. RIVER BIRCH showed improvement on debut when running on late last time. Verdict

Trainer Gavin Smith has a strong hand in this race. KHAYA'S HOPE had a number of these rivals well behind him when narrowly beaten by Port Louis recently. He is well weighted based on his high merit rating but it remains to be seen if he is really as good as that rating suggests. If he is, he will be a tough nut to crack. Stable companion ZATARA MAGIC does seem capable of a lot better than his last run. He won well previously and deserves respect. Fellow Smith-trained runners, SAND BANK and THEN IN FOCUS, were a bit disappointing last time and could do better. DOUBLE DESTINY has a decent finish on her and should contest the finish.

Verdict

SANTA THERESE is very good when at her best and she was back with a bang last time out. Under the conditions of the race she should prove hard to beat. INTEGRITY did beat that rival over the course and distance in the penultimate start but it did look a particularly good ride from jockey Ryan Munger that day as he got away with slow fractions and they didn't peg him back. Those tactics would have hopefully been noted by the other jockeys and it will not be easy to repeat them this time. PHOENIX may have found the distance a bit far last time and should do better this time. AND WE DANCED and DAME OF FLAMES are both capable of earning some money.

Verdict

A tough race. MHLABENI is improving and was a good winner last time out. Trainer Duncan McKenzie, is in good form and this gelding may follow-up. MOON GAME is in good form and was full of running to win his latest start and will be a danger once again. FERRARI ICE has been a disappointment in his last two starts and the penalties may have caught up with him. It is a bit of a surprise that blinkers remain on STAR OF THE SOUTH. He clearly went too fast last time when tried with them. This course and distance does suit STAR OF THE SOUTH so he must be considered. GOLD ROCK is consistent and could earn some more money.

Verdict

An interesting race and we may have to go as wide as possible to survive the Pick6. Stable companion PRINCESS DEB'S and ANGEL DEB'S both show promise and could have more wins in them but it is a competitive race. BABY DONT HURT ME makes her local debut and would not be a surprise winner. KLASERIE put in a good performance when narrowly beaten last time out and has a winning chance if repeating that level of form. Verdict

Trainer Alan Greeff should have a decent race. WHATEVER NEXT has returned to his best since blinkers were reached for and this gelding is course-and-distance suited. Jockey Richard Fourie, however, is on CLIFF TOP, the Eastern Cape Champion Two-Year-Old, who was not disgraced on his comeback. Good improvement on that run is expected and he could bounce back to winning form. CAPTAIN TATTERS has lost his way in his recent runs but was a wide margin winner the last time he was seen at this course and he deserves respect. PHEDRA has looked very good recently but does take a major jump in class so it will be interesting to see how she goes.
