Gordon Elliott has frequently targeted this race with future stars and GRAND PARADIS may be able to add his name to the illustrious roll of honour, which includes Envoi Allen, Samcro and Delta Work. The five-year-old went from strength to strength over hurdles, finishing with a comfortable Grade 3 victory, and considering he is related to plenty of smart chasers, he can continue his ascendancy on his seasonal reappearance. Gordon Elliott, who has won four of the last six runnings of this contest, saddles two here and it's his newcomer, THE MEDIATOR, who gets the vote. Jockey bookings point to the son of Maxios and he is certainly bred for the job, with his half-brother Applaus successful in the bumper sphere. Lieutenant Highway also represents Elliott and could build on his opening performance at Punchestown, although Sundrenched brings the best form to the table and is feared most.
