DESERT CREEK ended a lengthy losing run when striking over this trip at Leicester last month and a subsequent 9lb rise may not be enough to prevent another bold bid if much of the ability he held with Sir Michael Stoute still remains. Fama Mac has been performing consistently in sprints and is interesting now upped in trip, although with more assurances over their stamina, Pashan Garh and Sabratha look the main dangers.

SHRIMPTON gets the verdict, as a mark of 75 seems workable and she hinted this trip would suit when staying on late to score over 5f in a York maiden latest. However, preference is for SAJJHAA, who sets the standard based on her Middleton Stakes second to Izzi Top at York in May. NICHOLASCOPERNICUS has enjoyed a productive year and couldn't have won any more impressively at Goodwood latest. Ed Walker's charge handles cut and is at his best over this trip. Even though raised 9lb, he looks set to play a leading role in receipt of his weight-for-age allowance. First Mohican has evidently had his problems but remains unbeaten and open to improvement over 1m4f. Art Scholar and Clayton are others considered.

First Mohican is already smart after only 3 starts and he may well still be ahead of this handicap mark. SIRIUS PROSPECT landed this race 12 months ago and although he has struggled in Group company for the best part of this year, his recent efforts in a valuable York handicap and latterly, in the Champions Sprint Stakes, suggest he's coming back to something like his best again. The Cheka, winner of the Cammidge back in March, has place claims along with this year's Portland winner Doc Hay and the rapidly improving Jack Dexter.
