BEYOND THE LAW is in for just 5,000 euros here and has solid claims, despite having lost his form in recent times. A useful mid 130s chaser at his best, he showed some useful form at the end of last year and, whilst his latest runs were a little underwhelming, he drops markedly in class for this. With drying ground to suit, he should go well in first-time blinkers. Four-time hurdle winner Ardamir is also in for 5,000 euros and is helped by his rider's 7lb claim. He won at Ballinrobe last August and whilst well beaten in a handicap hurdle on his next start, and thrice beaten subsequently at Dundalk, he also drops in grade today and should prove competitive, with drying ground very much in his favour. Stablemate Tiger Twenty Two, another 5,000-euro entrant, won at Bellewstown last July and will also be suited by the drying ground, although he would ideally prefer a longer trip.

CLARABELLO can win this unplaced horses maiden, having shown some useful bits of form. Fourth on point-to-point debut, he has also filled fourth place in two maiden hurdles and a reproduction of his latest Wexford run, behind some capable enough types, should see him involved at the business end. Well-bred Call Me Merry has won a point-to-point and, whilst well enough held when fourth at Fairyhouse recently, today's race is a drop in grade. Direct Fire has also won a point-to-point and, whilst he has shown just ordinary hurdles form, his rider claims a helpful 7lb today and he can reach the placings. Presenting Bonnie was fourth in a similar race here in December but was well held on her latest start, while Colman's Courage ran with encouragement here a fortnight ago and is open to more progression.

Third-season novice ENVIOUS EDITOR is already the veteran of 10 maiden hurdle runs and can get his turn here. A 195,000-pound purchase following his point-to-point win in February 2018, Robbie Power's mount has yet to show any star qualities but is nonetheless a capable type who has run many solid races in defeat in useful hurdles. He comes here fit and well in what is a winnable race, with drying ground and today's trip both suiting. Fix The Bill has hinted at having ability and, whilst well held at Leopardstown latest, that was a useful novice hurdle and, in a first-time hood, should give the selection a race, albeit he might struggle to win. Boherlug ran a nice race on debut at Fairyhouse recently and can get involved for the placings for new connections today. Tipping Away ran well enough at Thurles, while Close Enough wasn't beaten too far on debut here a fortnight ago but faces a stiffer task this afternoon. Aboutagout ran with some promise on his first start for 1088 days at Thurles recently.

At this venue a fortnight back there was a cracking three-way finish to an 80-102 handicap hurdle with Hilltop Supreme narrowly coming out on top from ADDED BONUS and Crack On Corrie. A steward's enquiry was called in the aftermath but it was no surprise when the judge's placings were confirmed. Added Bonus, up 3lb for that meritorious effort, is back in trip now and that looks like it will suit well. The top-weight is by Jeremy, like Cheltenham winners Appreciate It, Black Tears, Sir Gerhard and Belfast Banter. This event is for horses rated less than 109 over hurdles. As such it was always unlikely that anything would leap off the page begging to be backed. However, rowing in behind SIL VER KLASS looks a reasonably safe option, and he has a chase mark that's nicely ahead of those others in possession of an official rating. He is assessed as a 112 performer, clear of Hell On Earth on 103 and Princely Conn on 97. The selection has mixed it more than once in handicap company over the larger obstacles and he'll surely find this level of opposition less taxing. On his sole try aboard the French-bred to date, Robbie Power finished second. He can go a place better in a race where La Feline, for Cheltenham winners Paul Nolan and Sean O'Keeffe, is feared most.

Liam Burke has won three bumpers this season and has a strong hand here, with GRANGE ISLAND getting the vote. Sent off 100/1 in a maiden hurdle at this venue in January, the Shirocco gelding shaped with promise when finishing fourth, only a couple of lengths behind runner-up and subsequent hurdles winner Dunboyne. He looks a big player as he contests his first bumper, while his well-bred stable companion Kilbrainy is worth a market check on his debut. Dysart Dynamo, a half-brother to three-time winner Dysart Diamond, is obviously a danger starting out for his powerful yard. Placed in a couple of bumpers, Fourneux D'isanka was a creditable third over hurdles last time and the extra couple of furlongs will be a help as he returns to this sphere. More Than A Memory was well fancied when sixth in a Leopardstown bumper that's working out quite well and is another to consider.
