The regally bred pair of Midterm and Us Army Ranger both arrive here with something to prove after disappointing on their return efforts when plenty was expected. Both may well improve for the run but they have bad draws to overcome so preference goes to WESTERN HYMN, who has a decent record when fresh and could improve for the step up in distance. The first-time cheekpieces may also help to make a difference with the son of High Chapparal who has been known to race lazily in the past. Red Verdon has plenty of ability and has the potential to prove better as a four-year-old, while Diamonds Pour Moi proved to be over her bad experience at Epsom when winning a Listed contest at Saint-Cloud in the autumn and any rain will assist her chances.

Caspian Prince will need all of his early pace from stall 10 on stable debut for Tony Coyle, while although Double Up has a nice draw in stall two, he has proved frustrating to follow for quite some time and can probably be taken on once more. Reflektor is potentially nicely treated off a mark of 96 and was a non-runner earlier in the week, but perhaps JUDICIAL is the one to beat here. The five-year-old returned to form when an impressive scorer at Pontefract recently and a 5lb rise might not be enough to prevent the only past course scorer in the field from following up.
