Foundation looked to have the world out his feet as a juvenile but he has proved a disappointment this season and could only manage a modest third at Windsor last time. He remains one to treat with caution and is passed over in favour of MOUNTAIN BELL. The latter was a most impressive winner of a Windsor maiden back in April before finishing third to Seventh Heaven in the Lingfield Oaks Trial. That form has a very solid look to it and she has presumably been kept fresh for an autumn campaign where underfoot conditions should be to her liking. The progressive Desert Encounter deserves a crack at a race like this and completes the shortlist.

Masamah merits plenty of respect following his back-to-back second-place finishes in recent weeks, while Economic Crisis beat a useful rival at Musselburgh when last seen and a 2lb rise in the ratings looks to be workable.

A thoroughly competitive heat despite the small field but the preference is for HEREAWI, who may get an an easy lead this afternoon. Things did not go the way of the daughter of Dubawi last time out but prior to that she had made all over 1m6f here back in July. The biggest danger looks to be Blakeney Point as he appears to be on an upward curve and may still have more to offer. That said, similar comments apply to Clear Evidence and Masterson cannot be completely discounted either despite the step up in grade.
