Experience is always respected in these early-season juvenile races, so previous winners Russian Bolero and Brook have to be considered, but Paul Nicholls has won five of the last nine runnings of this and saddles FULL BLAST. The French import ran well for third on his sole start at Enghien, and having been given the summer to acclimatise, he could be tough to stop. Karezak was a frustrating sort on the Flat with five straight seconds, but Alan King is good with his younger hurdlers.

Dan Skelton's gelding was beaten less than a length by a decent sort at Ascot when last seen and the yard is in sparkling form at present. BANDIT COUNTRY struck on his debut at Market Rasen and though only third in two subsequent starts in bumpers, he evidently goes well fresh and could triumph on his hurdling bow. Relentless Dreamer showed up well enough in his last couple of bumpers to be given a chance, while Truckers Steel followed up a Southwell NH Flat success with third over timber at the Nottinghamshire track, and that experience could be put to good use.

Colour Squadron is by far the most illustrious runner in the race, but he appeared at Newton Abbot just 24 hours ago so could be feeling the effects of that. Broadway Buffalo was a classy handicap hurdler and signed off his last campaign with a decent second on his chasing bow at Wetherby, but SOUTHFIELD THEATRE was arguably a better sort over timber. Paul Nicholls' charge was pipped in the Pertemps Final at Cheltenham and followed that up with a narrow win in Listed company at Sandown. Now tried over fences, he could improve again.

The drop in grade could help Peckhamecho on his first start in almost a year, while The Happy Warrior hasn't been sighted since his Taunton second in April, but he was in excellent form throughout the spring.
