All eyes will be on Paul Nicholls' KNAPPERS HILL as the exciting three-time bumper winner makes an eagerly-awaited hurdling debut and with the master trainer issuing positive bulletins about his progress recently, it looks unwise to take him on even at cramped odds. For all that, both Dan Skelton and Nigel Twiston-Davies saddle potentially interesting newcomers in the shape of Pikar and Supasunrise respectively, while Colin Tizzard's Earth Business showed useful form when not beaten far behind Nicholls' subsequent winner Tulin at Taunton last spring.

Hard to rule anything out of this with all four novice chasers separated by just 9lb on official hurdle ratings. Ask Dillon was an early faller on his only previous chase start but recovered to enhance his reputation with a career-best hurdle win at Cheltenham in the spring, while Threeunderthrufive won four of his five hurdle starts in lesser company last term and is sure to have been well schooled. Preference, though, is for Does He Know and HONEST VIC who each showed enough to warrant a tilt at Grade 1 prizes last year and who both look big chasing types.

But, if there is any value, it may lie with COEUR SEREIN who looked better than a mere handicapper when defying a 12lb rise in fetching style to complete a hat-trick at Huntingdon when last seen. It is interesting to see Dan Skelton pitch winning pointer Hidden Heroics into such deep waters for his hurdling bow.
