SIN BIN landed a 2m1f bumper here on debut and built upon his C&D hurdles debut second to again land the silver medal on heavy ground at this track. He may be capable of finding the improvement necessary to score at the third attempt. Oscar Magic was one paced on the run-in over 2m1f at Aintree last time and looks the main danger reverting to a longer trip. Eleven Fifty Nine, fourth in a Listed hurdle at Newbury last month, looks best of the rest.

Watch out for: Oscar Magic (4)

Eleven Fifty Nine sets a good standard for a maiden but her style of running suggests she's no certainty to stay this longer trip and Sin Bin gets the vote ahead of her. Last month's course bumper winner O'Faolains Boy should relish this trip now hurdling and also makes the shortlist.

John Ferguson excelled with his juvenile hurdlers during his debut season and his RUACANA, an 88-rated Flat performer formerly with Michael Bell, made a pleasing start to NH life when scoring with a bit in hand over 2m at Catterick last month. Caid Du Berlais was placed in a Listed hurdle at Auteuil in September and is feared most debuting for Paul Nicholls. Swnymor impressed when striking on his jumps bow at Newbury last month and is another to consider.

Caid du Berlais was fairly useful in France and is respected on his first start for Paul Nicholls (who has yet to land this prize), though he'll need to be at the top of his game to get the better of Ruacana, who jumped well in making a successful debut over hurdles last month. Swnymor is another useful ex-Flat performer to consider.

Cedre Bleu had a hard race when scoring over 2m6f on heavy ground at Ascot last month but returns to handicaps on an unchanged mark and looks weighted to go well if over those exertions. It might just be worth taking a chance on SHOEGAZER, who landed a Listed contest over a similar trip at Newton Abbot in September and has secured the services of AP McCoy now back from a 125-day break. Mahogany Blaze has place claims stepping back up in trip.

A big run from Sin Bin in the opener would boost the claims of his November course conqueror SHOTGUN PADDY. The selection has since come out and finished runner-up in a 2m5f novice hurdle under a penalty at Towcester but, now switched to handicaps and upped in trip, Emma Lavelle's representative is taken to get back on the winning trail. Tell Me Y and Amigo have been knocking on the door recently and are others to consider.

TEAFORTHREE won the four-miler at last year's Cheltenham Festival and should have no stamina concerns under the likely gruelling conditions. With AP McCoy's services secured, its quite likely he'll build upon his creditable Hennessy sixth in a race that has been considered his primary target for some time. Midlands National winner Master Overseer is 5lb well in under a penalty for his latest Cheltenham victory and is feared most, ahead of Michel Le Bon and Viking Blond.

Watch out for: Master Overseer (8)

Teaforthree has long been regarded an ideal type for this race and he can become the first Welsh-trained winner of the event since 1965. Viking Blond bombed when strongly fancied for the 2011 renewal, but he's given a chance to redeem himself after a good effort at Cheltenham last time, while Universal Soldier is also respected.
