It might pay to side here with the hurdling debutant BIG OCCASION. He showed plenty of stamina on the Flat, winning twice in Ireland, and has a liking for some cut in the ground. He is sure to be well prepared for this and could take all the beating. The danger might be Tour Des Champs, who fell last month in a Grade 2 hurdle at Cheltenham but scored on his debut at Stratford. Ruben Cotter could also run well.
An interesting novice hurdle to open preceedings and Ruben Cotter is taken to step up from his recent hurdling debut and land the prize. Romulus d'Artaix and Tour Des Champs may give him most to do.

Although he looked a little novicey at times on his chasing debut at Cheltenham last month, RESTLESS HARRY finished a close third at looks the one to be on here. A Grade 2 hurdle winner on his penultimate start, he should prove too good for these if getting his jumping together. The danger looks to be Teaforthree, who has made good progress in two runs over fences, but chances could also be given to Trenchant and The Gossmoor Yank.
Several with claims in a cracking novice chase. Little separated Teaforthree and Restless Harry when thier paths crossed at Cheltenham last month and the pair look sure to make their presence felt once more, but preference is for The Gossmoor Yank, who shaped with abundant promise after a long lay-off here last month and looks just the type to excel over fences.

The winner has gone on to score since and the selection, with this drop in trip likely to help, can open his account now. Rojo Vivo, an impressive 'bumper' winner at Carlisle in March, could prove the danger on his hurdling debut but C&D scorer Knock A Hand also has claims.
Knock A Hand made a bright start to his career in this sphere over C&D and has to be high on the list, along with easy bumper winner Rojo Vivo. However, the one to be on is Curtain Razer who was clear of the remainder when chasing home a useful type on debut under Rules at Exeter.

RHUM struggled on his switch to fences but, on returning from a summer break, finished a good second at Exeter last month. If the penny has really dropped, he could be capable of defying a 5lb rise in the weights to score here. The multi-talented Master Overseer boasts a fine strike-rate but may have too much weight now while Bangor winner Tarablaze is well weighted but is up in class and hasn't proved the most consistent.
Several of these have already had their glory days and it may pay to focus on those less exposed. Tarablaze fits the bill nicely and he showed enough at Aintree in April to think this sort of mark wouldn't be beyond him. Master Overseer and Rhum are others with the potential to do better.

It's worth giving another chance here to FLAMING GORGE, brought down at the first at Exeter last time. He'd been placed in his previous four starts over fences, going down by a neck at Plumpton on his penultimate start, and we may not have seen the best of him yet. Prince Du Seuil, winner of that Plumpton race, hasn't proved the most consistent and may struggle here at the revised weights while Accordintolawrence has yet to transfer his good hurdling form to fences.
A wide-open affair in which it could be worth taking a sporting chance on Massini Sunset, who should have come on for last month's return and often goes well round here. Roi de Rose also makes plenty of appeal on his seasonal return, while Double The Trouble is another with leading claims if back on song.
