The rejuvenated CISCO DISCO has won three of his last four starts at this venue. He stayed on in determined fashion to win a shade cosily on his latest outing and is taken to defy a 4lb penalty. Tee Aitch Aye opened his account on soft ground at Hamilton and merits serious consideration given the runner-up has subsequently landed a double, while Pol Roger may prove a bigger threat than Tafsir back over this longer trip.
CISCO DISCO is back in form again, he has won three of his last four starts (all here) and he may still have some more improving given he has won his last two by 4+ lengths and over a length respectively. He has been rated higher than this in the past, having won at Class 3. Next best is Pol Roger, he was in behind another progressive rical when close 2nd last time and arrives off the same mark, that was over 1m but he does have form over further. Tafsir shouldn't be far away she has been threatening again of late without getting her head in front and may just find one or two too good again. Tee Aitch Aye won at the 9th attempt last time so is worth another look.

NORTHERN BRAVE finished a promising third over C&D on last month's debut. Michael Dods' son of Gleneagles will have learn plenty for that experience and a bold bid is anticipated if coping with the testing underfoot conditions. Wave Power took a step forward when fourth on soft going at Hamilton and he rates the main danger, given Gaelic Approach has plenty to find with the selection and Naughty Boy was well beaten on debut.
NORTHERN BRAVE made a promising debut when best of the debutants by some way here last time, that was a competitive novice and with improvement likely second time out he looks a strong fancy to get off the mark. Wave Power looks the obvious choice to challenge, he was much iumproved up in trip last time and handled the softer conditions but would need another step forward to be involved here.

AHAMOMENT makes most appeal of the four recent winners. He bolted up on soft ground at Musselburgh last week and, given he's due to be raised by 6lb more than today's penalty in the future, the six-year-old can strike again while the iron is hot. Jkr Cobbler resumed winning ways over C&D on his latest start and should be thereabouts at the finish once again. He's preferred to Catterick winner Edgewater Drive, who steps up in trip for this.
AHAMOMENT romped home at Musselburgh last time out by over 5 lengths, a 4lb rise looks more than fair so another win could be on the cards here with testing conditions (last win came on soft ground). He has won off higher marks in the past so this could spark something in what looks another winnable race. Next best Jkr Cobbler was back to form when winning here last time out, he won a treble over CD in 2023 and connections will hope he finds the same form again. Edgewater Drive was back in the winners enclosure too last time on soft ground, making this a tough one to call.

In an open contest it might pay to rely on LORD BERTIE, who ran his best race of the season when second over C&D last month. Due to go up 1lb for future races, two of his three career victories have been on soft ground and with a second on heavy going at Haydock, this ground may play to his strengths. Kelpie Grey could also go well dropping back in trip in these conditions, while Hour By Hour has a decent strike rate on this ground.
An ultra-competitive sprint here, plenty of chances with a few like Woven who tend to need some luck in running. WOBWOBWOB was behind him in the Bronze Cup here but arrives in good form having gone close in his two prior efforts, but it's the testing conditions that he will relish so he gets the vote. Lord Bertie is running into form again and another who will enjoy the ground along with Mister Sketch who has dropped to a tempting mark again. Dwindling Funds looks for his fourth win of the year at the track after making all over a mile last month. The four-year-old is due to go up 3lb in future and is expected to have a big say, but EY UP ITS JAZZ has won two of his last four starts and is at his best with plenty of cut in the ground. He is marginally preferred, leaving top-weight Kindest Nation to try to run them down late on.
Another tricky contest to call here in this competitive 1m handicap. Kindest Nation gets her favoured conditions back after running her best race all year last time out, her last win came 12 months ago at Chester in similar conditions and she is just 2lb higher than that mark now. But DWINDLING FUNDS has been in fine form winning three of his last four starts, all here, and is unpenalised for his latest win over CD so does have obvious claims of backing that up. Ey Up Its Jazz goes well here and is in top order too, he won over CD in July and has backed that up with a win and a place since.

OBEE JO showed a lot more when taking the silver medal home at Hamilton on his most recent outing and is just 1lb higher. Tim Easterby's charge might only need to repeat that level of performance in order to go one better. Last year's winner Shine On Brendan finished third behind a subsequent winner at the same track last time and has to be considered. The hat-trick seeking Falcon Nine's chance is there for all to see.
SHINE ON BRENDAN hasn't won since winning this race last year and he has been dropped another 2lb for a placed effort at Hamilton last time so looks set to challenge once more for this race, he has won in heavy conditions previously too. It took Falcon Nine 26 races to win but he has won his last two now so something seems to have clicked finally, he looks the next best chance if backing those wins up from another penalty. Young Fire and Obee Jo are veterans capable on their day to get involved, and Uncle Liam has placed in his last two starts so shouldn't be too far away.

AIGHEAR went in by three lengths over 1m7f at this venue last month and now has a 4lb penalty. Jim Goldie's seven-year-old shouldn't have any issues with this drop in distance and can complete a double. Velvet Vulcan failed to supplement his Lingfield success when only fifth at the same track last time, but is an interesting contender on his first start for the R Mike Smith yard. Of the remainder, Amalfina makes the most appeal.
AIGHEAR was back in the winners enclosure last time when back up in trip, she has won here off the same mark previously so backing that up doesn't look out of the question. Amalfina threatened last time out in first time visor (retained) and looks to be on a workable mark, she remains a maiden but is tried up in trip which could be the key. Velvet Vulcan took a step backwards after winning prior, both at favoured his Lingfield all-weather track, he is yet to win on turf but looks capable of sneaking a place as he did earlier this year at Lingfield (turf).
