HUEHUECOYTLE sets the form standard on his hurdles debut second at Sedgefield last month and is entitled to improve with the benefit of that initial experience under his belt. Bigirononhiship has winning form between the flags and is respected on his first run under Rules, Lake View Lad is better than he showed when tumbling at Carlisle, while Mount Beckham makes appeal on his Leopardstown second in February and could also take a hand if coming on for his reappearance run at Fairyhouse.
HUEHUECOYTLE doesn't look the easiest of conveyances, but he clearly possesses a fair amount of ability, and in the hope he applies himself fully this time, is up to winning a race of this nature. Lake View Lad fell on hurdles debut, so this will reveal more, with Irish-point winner Bigirononhiship one to note in the market.

Nicky Richards took this a year ago and it is interesting that Brian Harding has appeared to chose Reivers Lad over Progress Drive, as the latter makes slightly more appeal on pedigree. Smooth River merits a place on any shortlist due to his trainer's strike-rate with bumper horses in this country. Broad Spectrum and SHANROE STREET were both successful in the point sphere, though, and they both look capable of making a winning rules debut, but the preference goes to the latter because he was very impressive when winning in October.
An interesting bumper and the betting will be informative. It might be worth chancing REIVERS LAD on debut under Brian Harding with Nicky Richards having a 24% strike-rate in these events in the last 5 seasons. Smooth River is another newcomer entitled to plenty of respect, while Shanroe Street and Broad Spectrum arrive on the back of wins in the pointing field.
