MUSH MIR was a very capable Flat performer and has taken to jumps in great style since joining Nicky Henderson, taking his record to three from three with a pillar-to-post victory over 2m5f at Southwell earlier this month. He will be very tough to pass again if allowed to dictate matters and he can concede 3lb to Deireadh Re, who looked all about stamina when winning a 3m maiden hurdle at Worcester on his NH bow in June. Bowntobebad and Crafti Bookie are others to have tasted success in this code and former's Huntingdon triumph was particularly convincing.
Deireadh Re and Bowntobebad are open to further improvement over hurdles, but Mush Mir upped his game again when maintaining his unbeaten record over timber at Southwell recently and could prove a tough nut to crack.

GRADUATION NIGHT has looked way ahead of the handicapper since having his attentions turned to fences, recording impressive back-to-back wins in races of this nature at Wincanton and Chepstow. He reportedly won well in spite of the soft going in Wales last time and could yet have more to offer back on decent ground. Bounds And Leaps is the obvious threat having also made a fine start to his chasing career when winning by 21 lengths at Chepstow last month. A 15lb rise in the ratings will not be easy for him to defy, however. Ballagio and Iheardu should also be accorded respect.
Graduation Night and Bounds And Leaps have been hit hard by the handicapper on the back of their recent Chepstow wins, but the pair almost certainly have a lot more to offer over fences and could fight out the finish, the former just shading the verdict. Iheardu looks best of the rest.

Jeremy Scott has his string in good shape and COOL FRIEND looks a decent bet following a pleasing comeback run at Wincanton. She bumped into a well-treated Paul Nicholls-trained rival earlier this month and is worth another chance off the same mark with that pipe opener behind her. Irish challenger Benefique has been going well in novice hurdles recently and looks on a potentially lenient mark returned to the handicap ranks, while Synthe Davis, Overyou and Lady Karinga complete the shorlist.
Overyou took another step forward when fending off a couple of subsequent winners at Hexham last month and looks sure to be thereabouts if continuing in the same vein. Cool Friend and Little Carmela are others worth considering.

An on-song Master Minded is one of the best jumpers in the game but it was a major worry to see him finish last of three on his reappearance at Aintree last month and having beaten SOMERSBY by just a short head off level weights in the Victor Chandler Chase last season, there's plenty to recommend Henrietta Knight's charge in receipt of 4lb today. The relatively consistent seven-year-old ended a losing run when readily seeing off Hennessy fancy Aiteen Thirtythree over 2m5f at Kempton last month and that will have done his confidence no end of good. Medermit dug deep to win the Haldon Gold Cup at Exeter on his return to action but this demands much more of him, while Ryanair runner-up Kalahari King has flopped twice since but he's bounced back from bad runs in the past.
Master Minded is 3 from 3 at Ascot and will be a tough nut to crack at his best, but the concession of 10 lb to Kalahari King will be no easy task if that one gets back to anywhere near the form he showed when runner-up in last year's Ryanair. Ferdy Murphy's charge should be sharper for his recent reappearance and is worth chancing at likely odds.

OSCAR WHISKY will be very tough to beat, despite having to concede 8lb all round. Having suffered his only two career defeats when fourth in the 2010 Supreme Novices' Hurdle and when third to Hurricane Fly in the Champion Hurdle in March, Nicky Henderson's gelding is clearly of the highest calibre and his Grade 1 victory over Thousand Stars at Aintree when last seen in April left the impression he could be even better this term. Overturn has been a fine servant to connections and looked as good as ever when lugging a big weight to victory in a Perth handicap in August. He could put up most resistance, but it would also be folly to discount the unexposed and race-fit King Of The Night, who isn't far behind the principals on official figures.
Overturn looks the pick of the weights judged on his Perth win, though he's likely to face competition for the lead from the likes of Lough Derg, so Oscar Whisky is taken to confirm himself still a major player for the top hurdling prizes this term by overcoming his penalty. The up-and-coming King of The Night is also respected on the back of successive handicap wins recently.

I'msingingtheblues comes into this on the back of a fine third at Cheltenham last week and is entitled to go close again, with stablemate Dan Breen another to consider on his seasonal reappearance. The latter was a classy novice last term and is sure to prove popular on his handicap debut, despite having to concede weight all round. De Boitron should strip fitter for his recent comeback run but there is plenty to like about the chances of ANQUETTA, a ready C&D winner over the reopposing King Edmund (second), Darceys Dancer (third), Torphichen (fourth) and Takeroc (fifth) three weeks ago and is expected to take all the beating again.
Anquetta is taken to confirm last month's C&D superiority with a few of these, but the Cheltenham race in which I'msingingtheblues and Rileyev ran in recently is likely to prove strong form and they could be the pair to concentrate on. The former finished in front on that occasion but Rileyev hinted at better to come in sixth (travelled strongly) and is taken to turn the tables.

Debut winners Harry Topper and Ifyouletmefinish both face a sterner examination of their credentials today and it is another winning debutant, POPULATION, who is preferred. John Ferguson has enjoyed a terrific start to his training career and his Noverre gelding was most impressive when numbering the reopposing Crystal Swing (third) among his victims over this C&D last month. Trained by Andre Fabre as a juvenile, he now looks to be over his early problems and connections are hopeful he can make up into a smart prospect. Crystal Swing should get much closer today receiving a 12lb pull at the weights with the selection, while Sligo second Be All Man is another to consider.
