Buveur D'air probably arrives with the single best piece of form having finished third in last month's Supreme Novices' Hurdle and, if anything, he should be better suited by this flatter track, but LIMINI will prove extremely difficult to beat receiving the mares allowance. The five-year-old was all the rage heading into Cheltenham just over three weeks ago and she certainly didn't disappoint, landing the Grade 2 Mares' Novice Hurdle by a convincing four-and-a-half lengths. Her jumping was a lot better on that occasion than it had been in previous starts and she has an electric turn of foot, so much so that she has been spoken about as a Royal Ascot contender later this year. The money has come for her again in the build-up to today's race and she could take some stopping. Bleu Et Rouge won impressively at Leopardstown prior to falling in the Albert Bartlett at Cheltenham and he rates a lively outsider, while runaway Betfair Hurdle winner Agrapart adds further spice to the race.

The two market principals arrive here after surprising victories at Cheltenham three weeks ago and they look likely to battle it out. UN TEMPS POUR TOUT still looks to be on a respectable mark and his trainer has come into form over the last few weeks. This flat track could see him get the better of Blaklion, who stayed on strongly to claim the RSA ahead of Shaneshill and the well-fancied More of That. A few horses had their excuses in that contest and perhaps Nigel Twiston-Davies' charge needs more of a stamina test than the selection. Native River put up a fine show in the National Hunt Chase but has work to do over this trip to reverse the form with the aforementioned. Ballyalton fulfilled his potential with victory in the Close Brothers' Handicap Chase on the first day of the Festival and should continue to progress, but this race might just be too hot for the nine-year-old.

VAUTOUR looks banker material as Willie Mullins continues his assault on the National Hunt Trainers Championship in this country. The seven-year-old was the subject of negative vibes heading into last month's Cheltenham Festival, so much so that at the last minute he was rerouted from the Gold Cup to the Ryanair Chase. However, like on a number of occasions in the past, the son of Robin Des Champs was simply breathtaking when landing the 2m5f contest by an easy six lengths and, worryingly for his rivals, the feeling is that he might turn up an ever better animal today. There are no concerns over trip, ground or track, and it will be one of the shocks of the week if he gets beat. The one to chase him home might well be God's Own, who has run well at the last couple of Cheltenham Festivals and only went down by a length in the 2m Doom Bar Maghull Novices' Chase at this meeting 12 months ago. He makes slightly more appeal than Ryanair fourth Al Ferof.

Village Vic looked really progressive until running creditably when up against it in the Ryanair behind Vautour and, back in handicap company, can make a bold bid from the front. Other front runners include Cocktails At Dawn, who bids to give Nicky Henderson his fifth win in the race, and course regular Benny's Mist, who won the Grand Sefton here in December and should give another good account, but it's another Aintree stalwart that makes plenty of appeal in MR MOONSHINE. Sue Smith's charge returned from a 13-month absence to win a competitive Pertemps Qualifier at Haydock in February before running well at Carlisle over an extended 3m last month. A 1lb drop and a drop back in distance looks the key for a horse who has shown excellent form over these fences. Others to consider include Bishops Road, who was balloted out of Saturday's Grand National, Fairy Rath, who was second to the ill-fated Rajdhani Express in this last year, and Dromnea, who shapes as though these unique fences will suit his style.

A very competitive affair with no standout candidate and this race has a history of upsets, with five 16/1 or bigger winners since 2006. With that in mind, a chance can be given to MYSTICAL KNIGHT, who showed a great attitude to win a novice event at Navan last month. That came on the back of a respectable effort when second to Open Eagle on his debut over obstacles. Both of those runs came when the yard were badly out of form but Rebecca Curtis is back amongst the winners of late. Ballydine put in a career best when giving a race to Barters Hill at Doncaster in January, although he may have been flattered to get so close. Gangster has to reverse form with stablemate Balko Des Flos from the Albert Bartlett. Arguably the best piece of Cheltenham form on offer today is Baoulet Delaroque's fifth in the Coral Cup and this step up in trip looks likely to suit as he was slightly one-paced on that occasion. Bellshill has gone in the wrong direction since a highly promising start to his hurdling career. Others worthy of consideration at decent prices are Arkwrisht, Ballyoptic, Duke Des Champs and Potters Legend.

BALLYANDY ran a blinder to win the Champion Bumper at Cheltenham last month and can complete a big race double for a yard that boasts a great record in the race. Nigel Twiston-Davies has won this Grade 2 four times, most recently with the likes of The New One (2012) and Ballybolley (2014), and his son of Kayf Tara accounted for the reopposing Willie Mullins inmates Battleford (second) and Bacardys (third) at Prestbury Park. A winner of four of his first starts in this discipline, his experience will stand him in good stead and he was probably worth more than the winning margin suggests at Cheltenham having got shuffled back notably over two furlongs out before running on up the hill in great style. Battleford ran a blinder on just his second start and the Punchestown winner must be respected, while similar sentiments apply to Bacardys. Of those who didn't run at Cheltenham, it could be worth keeping an eye on impressive Uttoxeter scorer Utility.
