Expert Analysis
The winner was impressive, but this may not be strong form for the grade, the runner-up only fairly useful over hurdles and the third failing to see out this longer trip. That said, the time compares well with the other race at this distance on the card and the winner’s final 4f of 59.10s (108.7% finishing speed, with some of it downhill) on “soft” ground suggests the pace was solid enough.
BIOLUMINESCENCE (c135+ here, unraced chases previously) is a chasing type on looks and probably has a bright future in this sphere, found a good spot in a weak Grade 2 for her chasing debut but impressing with everything she did. She jumped and travelled well in second before going on shortly after halfway, was shaken up between the last 2 and ran on well, getting just one crack with the whip on the run-in.
PAGGANE (c133 here, unraced chases previously) had her limitations as a hurdler but promises to be better as a chaser, especially at long distances. She made a mistake at the first but warmed to her task, went third 3 out and could make little further headway for a while until staying on nicely towards the end.
SHECOULDBEANYTHING (c131+ here, 137 previously) ran respectably but would likely have been second had she stayed, close up and travelling as well as the winner until beginning to feel the pinch 2 out and emptying soon after.
