Expert Analysis
A weak race of its type, run on particularly testing ground (not for the first time at this course or at this fixture), and a modest time compared to the hunter chase that preceded it is another reason to take the form with a pinch of salt, the winner credited with some improvement rather than lots of it. The pace was steady to begin with, even for the conditions.
HAUTURIERE (c141 here, 134 previously) took this impressively, more at home than she had been at just 17f the time before, but probably had little to beat on the day. She tracked the pace before leading going well before 2 out, storming clear from between the last 2 as her main rival caved in. Her jumping was sound on the whole.
SAINTE DONA (c112 here and previously) seemed to run creditably but is nothing out of the ordinary and got second only due to the limitations of others, leading in the early stages.
HARMONYA MAKER (c110 here, 138 previously) may be best at shorter but was coming off clearly second-best from going to 2 out (led from fifth to there) and stopped quickly late on, again possibly not altogether straightforward.
HENNING (c0 here, 114 previously)
