A Grade 2 that was fought out by the main two in the betting, The Big Westerner landing a first win over fences on the testing ground she enjoys. The pace was solid.
THE BIG WESTERNER won a Grade 2 at this meeting for the second time in two years, the ground suiting as she made most of the running, jumping well. She was joined before the second last by the runner-up who seemed to be travelling marginally better, but she found plenty to be well on top at the line. She had just two runs before Cheltenham last season and that might be the plan again.
JADE DE GRUGY stepped up on her chase debut at Cork, jumping better and travelling well for much of the race. This trip was the longest she has run over and may have stretched her. She is a smaller sort than The Big Westerner.
UHAVEMEINSTITCHES has an official mark of 128 and appeared to run to it. She made a mistake at the second last but kept on to take third.
FARFROMNOWHERE had beaten Jade De Grugy last time but failed to match that form on ground slower than ideal.
HONEY COME QUICK ran well to a point on her track debut having won two recent point-to-points.
WHATCOULDHAVEBEEN made several mistakes.
LITTLEBIGGIE was never involved coming off a break.
