Henry de Bromhead (24 October 2025): "He’s in great form and we have the Fortria Chase at Navan in mind for his starting point. He’s getting older and we’re conscious of that, so we won’t make any long-term plans and will play him based on what we see in each of his runs."

Henry de Bromhead (23 October 2024): "He looks fantastic and is in great form. He’s on track to make his return in the Fortria Chase at Navan on November 16th, and I’d say we’ll be looking at plotting a similar campaign to last season with him. He had already been a wonderful horse for us, but he gave us an incredible day when he won the Queen Mother Champion Chase last March."

Henry de Bromhead (05 March 2024): "He’s on target for the Champion Chase and seems in great form. He had a little issue with his heart when he was pulled up at Christmas, but we were happy with his run at the Dublin Racing Festival. He seemed to gain confidence through the race. He ran really well in the race last year and won’t mind whatever way the ground comes up. He looked as good as ever in the Fortria earlier this season and can hopefully run to that sort of level again."

Henry de Bromhead (08 November 2023): "He’s in great shape and he’ll start back in the Fortria Chase. He had a great season last time around and we’ll most likely give him a similar sort of campaign this season again. I’m not sure he is ideally suited by Leopardstown, but the calendar dictates that he’ll probably still go there at Christmas."

Henry de Bromhead (21 April 2021): "He’s in mighty form. He won a beginner’s chase at Punchestown and we are looking forward to getting him back there for the Ryanair Novice Chase. He was just too keen at Cheltenham and I don’t think we saw the best of him. Himself and Allmankind just went too quick and it was probably my fault as I had said to Rachael that if we committed to leading from the outset, I didn’t think anyone would take us on, but Allmankind did and that didn’t help either of them. He’s better than he showed there."

Henry de Bromhead (09 March 2021): "He’ll run in the Arkle Challenge Trophy. He’s in great form and schooled really well yesterday. It was frustrating to see him fall in his last start, but he’d jumped really well up to that point. The better the ground, the better his chance."

Henry de Bromhead (09 October 2020): "Captain Guinness summered really well, and the intention is to run him in a maiden chase later this month, possibly at Tipperary on the 20th. His schooling over fences has been very good and we’re excited about him. Looking back at his run in the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle, he was very unlucky with how it unfolded for him. Who knows what would have happened had he not met with so much trouble, but it looked like he was going to run a big race. Thankfully he got up ok and we can’t wait to see him on the track again."

Henry De Bromhead (28 February 2020): "The plan is to run him in the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle. He will lack experience going into it, but he has done very little wrong and we think he deserves to take his chance. He had shown himself to be quite strong in his work at home and while he settled quite well on his debut, that run probably lit him up and he took a strong hold in a small-field race last time. We are going to try him in ear plugs at Cheltenham and hopefully that will help keep him relaxed."
