Willie Mullins (11 February 2026): "He is entered in the Champion Hurdle, but his pedigree would probably rule him out of it. I'm not sure if he has anything fast in his pedigree."

Willie Mullins (08 October 2025): "Ballyburn didn‘t really seem to enjoy his time over fences last season and the plan is to send him back hurdling with the Stayers’ Hurdle as his long-term aim. We brought him back in early and did a lot of groundwork with him to get him good and strong. He can of course go back over fences if we want to do that, but hurdling is what is on our minds for him for now."

Willie Mullins (06 February 2025): "It was great to see him do what he did at the weekend. He’ll need to settle a bit better, but I think that experience will be good. Paul gunned him down to every fence at Kempton and when you’re doing that, it puts it into the horse’s mind that this is what is expected. He tried to replicate that a bit in the race last Sunday, but Paul was doing the opposite, trying to settle him. So we’ll be trying to settle him at home here, but I think, given the size of the Cheltenham fences and everything, he’ll be fine. The Brown Advisory is his target still."

Willie Mullins (23 January 2025): "He will take his chance in the Leopardstown Ladbrokes Novice Chase. Looking at the pedigree he has and the fact he is a big stamp of a horse, he has stayer written all over him. Hopefully his attitude will let him stay, he will have to settle and do a few things better to stay the trip but that’s all part of him maturing. We found out there and then at Kempton at Christmas he couldn't jump at that pace. Sir Gino could be a superstar and maybe if he wasn’t there, he might have been ok at two miles, but it seems to be the case that he wants a longer trip. "

Willie Mullins (28 November 2024): "Where will he go at Christmas now? The 2m 1f Grade 1 novice chase at Leopardstown would have been the perfect race for him, but that’s been removed now. I don’t know if I want to go to Naas with him. I don’t know if I want to go to Limerick with him. Maybe he’ll have to go to England? He’s one of the top draws of the season and now there’s no race at Leopardstown’s Christmas meeting for him."

Willie Mullins (17 April 2024): "He did even more than I hoped he would do at the Cheltenham Festival. He really impressed me. Everyone was raving about him after Leopardstown, but I wasn’t necessarily fully on board. When I saw how he came up the hill at Cheltenham, that changed. What he did, I would be comparing him to the likes of Faugheen or Vautour. A real top-end performance. He can go any trip we need him to at Punchestown and we’ll slot him in whichever race suits best closer to the time."

Willie Mullins (25 October 2023): "He was very impressive in both his starts last season, but he was very hard on himself both days. I’m hoping that hurdles will help settle him down. He needs to settle better and learn how to race. He won’t get away with being that free when he steps up in class over hurdles. On pedigree, he’s bred to stay well, but with his method of racing at the moment, he is probably a Supreme Novices’ Hurdle horse."
