DAN MAGUIRE has been knocking on the door all season and ran his best race over this C&D on his latest start when he raced close-up all the way before finishing a 3-length third of 14 in a similar handicap. Tom George's consistent sort fully deserves to get his head in front at last. Wujood came good with a smooth win at Exeter on his penultimate outing, he was less impressive when eighth of 15 at the same venue yesterday but he is still at the right end of the handicap. Tarkani was leading at this distance at Uttoxeter last time and should prove a major factor in this contest.
Victory Surge has not been seen for over 6 months, but he has the potential to make an impact on his handicap debut with the extra half mile expected to suit. Raider of The East is also of interest on his first start for Tim Vaughan, while Dan Maguire has a place shout.

Nigel Twiston-Davies has his string in fine form and he has every chance of another winner here with PALMITO. This lightly-raced mare made all the running at Ffos Las on her reappearance to win by 6 lengths and she can repeat the treatment here. Hayes Princess also showed plenty of pace to beat Pilgrims Lane at Towcester and she will find this flat circuit much easier. Orbital Orchid very nearly sprang a 25/1 surprise at Exeter, beaten just a head by Cool Friend and is no forlorn hope.
Recent winners Hayes Princess and Palmito have to be respected despite their 7 lb penalties, while Orbital Orchid's form when second at Exeter entitles her to be in the mix. However, Silver Kate was a useful tool in bumpers last season and she could prove too classy on her hurdling bow.

A welcome change of luck would not come amiss for DEVILS RIVER, who has had to settle for the runner-up spot in his last three races, all at Towcester. He tried to make the running each time and those tactics could pay off at this less demanding course. Satindra caught a tartar when second to runaway winner Zorro De La Vega over C&D and this young chaser can only improve. Mischief Man is preferred to the veteran Leneygaff, who ran very well when last seen back in July.
Satindra can usually be relied upon to run his race, but is worth taking on for win purposes most of the time, so Glencap is preferred given his eye-catching trainer change. Legends Lass could go well at a bigger price.

A fascinating maiden hurdle which features several lightly raced types and also some interesting sorts from Ireland. A tentative vote goes to EMPEROR CONCERTO who was a good third in both races last term in decent novice hurdle company at Market Rasen and Ascot. Quelqu'un Comme Toi is open to loads of improvement on his runs of last season, while Jonjo O'Neill's pair of Domos Boy and Hopeful Star have both won Irish point-to-points and warrant the utmost respect.
Bumper winner Triggerman and Hopeful Start make plenty of appeal on their hurdling debuts, but Emperor Concerto sets a pretty high standard and looks the one to side with.

Paul Nicholls has found the ideal opportunity for PRIDE OF DULCOTE to kick-start his new career over fences. A winner of three hurdles last season and a close second at the Cheltenham Festival, he is sure to have been well schooled and should make no mistake. Captain Americo was tailed off when last seen out but before that had won handicap hurdles at Wincanton and Kempton. Any Currency is still seeking his first win after eight bites at the cherry.
Pride of Dulcote was classy as a hurdler and should win with plenty to spare if taking to the larger obstacles. Captain Americo is no mug, though, and should follow him home with the same proviso.

The Twiston-Davies/Paddy Brennan combination could strike again with CROUCH END FLYER. He stayed on well to beat Crystal Prince by 2 lengths at Towcester and the extra half-mile here should be right up his street. King Ozzy looks the likely danger after breaking his duck with a victory at Stratford in July last time out. Sir Ian's only win came over this trip at Bangor last season and he was far from disgraced when third at the same track in May on his latest start.

WILLIAM BONNEY finished last season with a flourish, gaining two good wins in handicaps at Ludlow. Charlie Mann's reliable chaser can carry on where he left off over an extra half-mile today. Super Formen, who hails from the powerful Nicholls yard, commands respect even though his record last season was a little patchy. Celtic Boy may be a veteran now but he keeps his form very well and is a winner over C&D so is a must for the shortlist.
Plenty worthy of consideration in what is a decent contest, but Bauhaus makes most appeal on just his fifth start for his highly successful yard. Super Formen and Flake are both likely to get involved.

The few of these who have run make precious little appeal, so the vote goes to one of the newcomers in the shape of COCKNEY PRINCE. Jonjo O'Neill has a creditable record in bumpers and this well-bred gelding could be forward enough to do the business. The silver medal may fall to another newcomer in Ackertac from the Nigel Twiston-Davies stable, a yard noted for success in this in NH flat races. Duke Of Lucca is by the St Leger winner Milan and a prominent display can be expected.
Expensive purchases Cockney Prince and Duke of Lucca look the 2 to concentrate on, both from top yards, with narrow preference for the former. Ackertac could fare best of the rest.
