PIRATE'S LEGEND left his debut form well behind when third over 6f here last month and he's entitled to take another step in the right direction this evening. Regally Red has shown more than enough to be of interest and should strip fitter for his recent run, while Dad's Fishing shouldn't be far away with a repeat of his close-up course second.
KING'S MISSILE shaped quite well on his racecourse bow here in August and, with that experience under his belt, the Golden Missile colt should take much closer order over this more demanding route trip. Oky Doky Danny and Apalachee Storm could provide the stiffest opposition.
GHETTO SUPERSTAR has done very little wrong in defeat in his three public appearances since winning over track and trip back in May and he'll be strongly fancied to regain the winning thread this evening. Thats Our Luck is in fine form at present and is sure to give his running, along with Striking Attitude who certainly won't be going down without a fight.
GIANT ACT bounced back from his penultimate effort when returned to sprinting over this track and trip earlier in the month and although he failed to justify favouritism that day, he was only beaten a neck and can make amends on this occasion. Fortynine Express is interesting now stepped up in class, but Carolus Magnus looks the main danger to the selection.
MRS.LINDSAY arrives here on the back of her top-class victory at Longchamp and the French invader, who was only narrowly beaten in the French Oaks back in June, could take all the beating if as effective this side of the Atlantic. Safari Queen rarely runs below par but may need a little improvement to score at the highest level. The Irish challenger Four Sins and recent Belmont winner Barancella also merit a good deal of respect.
This can go the way of DASHINGALLTHEWAY, who hasn't finished outside the first two on her four latest public appearances. She boasts sound form at this level and seems equally effective over a number of distances. True Pic is rarely far from the action and should give another good account, while the unexposed and rapidly-improving Stolen Humor is also dangerous to ignore.
A highly competitive contest with plenty of top-class form to sink the teeth into. Sky Conqueror is possibly the pick of the home team, but it's impossible to ignore the Sir Michael Stoute-trained Ask, who landed the Cumberland Lodge at Ascot with plenty in hand last month, and the German challenger, QUIJANO. Slight preference is for the latter, who has won an impressive twelve times from his fifteen racecourse appearances. He was far from disgraced in the Group 1 Dubai Sheema Classic at Nad Al Sheba back in March and has since been in scintillating form on home soil, winning a top-class contest over this distance at Baden Baden last month.
This represents a significant drop in class for the PALACE PIER, who has contested a couple of Graded races this season, and it would be no surprise to see the Darwin Banach-trained filly take full advantage. Tale Of The Fox has winning form in similar company and must rate highly, a comment that also applies to Sweetdetermination, who regained the winning thread here earlier in the month.
This could prove a profitable foray for English trainer Andrew Balding and DARK MISSILE. The filly landed the Wokingham at Royal Ascot and most recently gone down by a nose to Haatef in the Group 2 Diadem at the same track - form that should be good enough here. Smart Enough, winner of a $200k race at Philadelphia and on a hat trick here, looks the danger while Moth Ball, a Grade 3 winner at Santa Anita this time last year, can't be ruled out.
ESKIMO KISS finished with a wet sail when scoring around here last time out and could take some stopping on his bid to follow up today. The consistent Grey Slew finished second here on his latest outing and rates the biggest threat, while Wootz Steel is another that cannot be easily dismissed.
DELAFORCE made a promising debut when finishing third around here last month and, with further improvement on the cards, he could prove a cut above his rivals today. Igottogojoe finished fourth on his first outing in public and is likely to give a good account in this, while Mark Casse's newcomer Grazettes Landing could be one worth noting if attracting any market support.
