BOURBON FIRST won a similar contest last time and a repeat of that performance would make him the one to beat. Cosmic Charlie and One For Jack are closely related on their run here back in November and can give the selection something to think about.
CONQUEST CAVALRY was an impressive winner here last month on his return to action and the son of Old Forester is capable of backing up that performance here. Sun Daze looks a likely improver after a good win here in April and should benefit from the step up in distance along with Hollywood Hideaway.
SWEET CRIMSON has shaped with promise on both her starts and the half a furlong drop in distance should be of benefit. Meadow Gem looks to have the potential to improve on her initial effort last week, while Leroy's Princess ran a career best last time and can build on that.
Kat's Good Scout brings the best form to the contest having improved for a gelding operation over the winter but the newcomer AMAZING IN MOTION appeals with Lasix first time and his trainer being in decent form with a 21% strike rate. Crushin It is another debutante who has the profile to go well first time out.
The consistent BEAR HUNTER made a pleasing enough reappearance and looks more than capable of winning in this grade. He looks to have Kayez held on the form of that effort last month, with Armando Big feared the most dropping in class.
Fresh might be the best time to catch SOROKOLITIS, who showed signs of progression last season. He should appreciate the conditions on offer and get the better of Speyside, who ran a decent race in third on his reappearance last month. Grom and Fuhr Gerry make up the shortlist.
SHOW SHAPE looks capable of winning at this level and must be well-thought of by connections after contesting a $200,000 race in 2014 before dropping in class to finish a fair second. She hasn't been on the track for 18 months but this appears to be a realistic starting point. Mel's Ring is progressing well at this level, while Luckbealady Now completes the shortlist.
The benefit of a run plus the addition of blinkers could help GALINA POINT to reverse the form with Leigh Court, who already had race fitness on her side in their closely-contested battle last month. Academic claimed some huge pots for her connections last month and is feared most.
CONQUEST QUICKDRAW looked progressive last season at this grade and looked in need of his reappearance effort three weeks ago. Mark Casse will have him primed for this, and he can get the better of four-timer seeking Athenian Guard and the reliable Peyton.
Letter Fly was touched off on her reappearance over 5f here and should go close again, but MISS SEA's class could shine through. She is versatile in terms of trip and was only beaten three-parts of a length in a 125k event when last sighted 10 months ago. If anywhere near peak fitness on her return to action, she will prove difficult to beat. Call Me Baby and Virginia Hill are others to keep an eye on.
