THAT'S A GIVEN, who won a Huntingdon bumper on his debut last year, has done enough in three starts over hurdles to suggest he'll be winning in this sphere sooner rather than later. He disappointed favourite backers in novice company at Ludlow and Huntingdon but those performances weren't devoid of promise and he was beaten less than a length on his handicap debut at Taunton last time. A subsequent break may have done him the world of good and he is preferred ahead of Forgot To Ask and Paint The Dream.
FORGOT TO ASK made a pretty underwhelming start to his chase career, but his form over hurdles prior to that doesn't look too shabby and he’s of interest reverting back to timber after a wind operation fitted with a tongue tie. That's A Given may well have more to offer, while similar comments also apply to Mon Eldorado.

UMNDENI is going to prove incredibly tough to beat if running up to a mark of 130 in this novice heat. Connections have found their charge a brilliant opportunity and he'll only need to run to the form of his Fontwell success in January to win. Captain Tommy won well on heavy ground at that same venue last month but will need to improve again if he's to beat the selection off level weights, while Ulysses looks best of the rest.
UMNDENI didn't seem himself on handicap bow at Ascot but he's been given a break since and should have no trouble resuming winning ways in this company. Captain Tommy won a very weak event at Fontwell but is still a clear-next best.

SOLAR IMPULSE performed well in reapplied cheekpieces at Wetherby in February and, entitled to have improved for that first spin for 381 days, the 2016 Cheltenham Festival winner is on a decent mark and is expected to go well. Lickpenny Larry is less exposed than the selection and must enter calculations, but the main danger appears to be Tikkinthebox, who goes well fresh and hasn't been seen since he was pulled up at Kempton last October. His form before that was encouraging.
SAINTEMILION already looks a better chaser than hurdler and can defy a penalty for his win at Exeter with further improvement forthcoming. Solar Impulse failed to land a gamble on debut for this yard on belated return at Wetherby but it was still a respectable effort and he is entitled to build on that. Enola Gay is best of the others.

TOOSEY was a decisive winner when last seen over fences at Ayr in October and he could be hard to beat, despite a 12lb higher mark, this afternoon. Pink Gin won over C&D back in January and he is an obvious threat to the selection, while Wizards Bridge and River Of Intrigue are others who could go well in a moderate contest.

THE FLYING SOFA has always been held in high regard and has run well in defeat on many occasions this season, including when chasing home Triumph Hurdle winner Pentland Hills at Plumpton in February. He should find this much easier than the Supreme Novices' Hurdle he was last seen in and can open his account here at the expense of the experienced Shillingsworth, who has been plying his trade in handicaps for the majority of this season. Chapmanshype is interesting on his hurdles bow following wind surgery and the Punchestown bumper winner, who joined Jamie Snowden for 72,000 pounds, was deemed good enough to compete at Listed level when last seen.
THE FLYING SOFA found the demands of the Supreme all too much at Cheltenham last month, but this useful bumper winner had previously shown plenty in hitting the frame on 3 occasions and can come out on top in a race lacking depth. Chapmanshype and Rowley Park can do battle for minor honours.
