RIMINI unseated his rider at Ffos Las on his latest start but had been progressing nicely over hurdles prior to that and deserves a chance to put things right bearing in mind his previous progression. Highway Code looks the main threat to the selection and is of interest now handicapping for the first time, while Lively Fling showed very little at Ascot in October on his seasonal bow but would have place prospects on his earlier form. Fletch And Lenny will relish the testing ground and is another with frame claims.
If Barney Curley's Me Fein is gambled on the money could be worth following, but as things stand Lively Fling is fancied to leave his below-par October return behind with soft ground not a problem. Rimini goes back over hurdles off a favourable mark and should also be thereabouts, with Highway Code third best.

PEVERIL was a smart novice hurdler last term and opened his account over fences at the first time of asking at Folkestone with a straightforward success last time out. With further improvement possible, Nicky Henderson's charge is taken to see off Wayward Prince, who chases a four-timer but was rather fortunate to score last time after being left in the lead two out. Fruity O'Rooney may struggle to make an impact on these terms. Shalimar Fromentro is up in grade but is no forlorn hope in receipt of weight all around.
A case could be made for all 4, but Wayward Prince has done everything asked of him so far and he's narrowly preferred to Peveril and Shalimar Fromentro.

SILK DRUM has gone well fresh previously and makes plenty of appeal having dropped 8lb in the weights ahead of his handicap chase debut. Moon Over Miami isn't getting any younger but is more than capable of making an impact in this grade now only 1lb higher than his November success at Ffos Las. C&D winner Pret A Thou must bounce back from a disappointing effort at Haydock but the wetter the better as far as he is concerned and a return to form isn't ruled out.
Call Me A Legend shaped well at Newbury on her reappearance and, with that run under her belt, she can get the better of Pret A Thou and Silk Drum.

A seriously tough race to fathom but ALFIE SPINNER ticks plenty of boxes being an unexposed youngster who looks to be crying out for the step up to 3m. Nick Williams' charge, a good fourth in the EBF Final at Sandown last March, made an eye-catching start to the season when fourth behind Salden Licht over 2m1f at Exeter recently and it looks significant stable jockey Daryl Jacob comes here to ride him rather than James De Vassy in the Lanzarote Hurdle at Kempton. County Zen is a little older but also has relatively few miles on the clock, while Frascati Park is still a novice but he's another expected to relish the longer distance. Kauto The Roc appeals most of those near the foot of the weights.
Like Minded and Frascati Park are handily weighted starting out in handicaps and have to be taken seriously, but they are unlikely to be any value in what could turn out to be a war of attrition. Heathcliff and Federstar are in their element under these circumstances and could prove the best options.

MOSSLEY is unbeaten under NH rules and showed a willing attitude to land a Grade 2 event over 3m at Cheltenham last month. The drop in trip doesn't look an obvious plus here but deep ground will make it enough of a test and he's going to take plenty of beating. Jetnova looks another true stayer in the making and has won his last two starts at Plumpton in the manner of an improving animal. Easy Uttoxeter winner Maxdelas and the well-regarded Court In Motion complete the shortlist.
The unbeaten Mossley is the obvious starting point but there has to be a concern about the ground and he's opposed with the promising Court In Motion, who will relish conditions. Ex-French horse Maxdelas made an impressive debut for new connections last month and also has to enter calculations.

Stamina is the name of the game here and although 2008 Grand National winner Comply Or Die has been out of sorts, he shouldn't be ruled out. Hello Bud landed the Scottish equivalent in 2009 and won a Listed chase at Aintree in November but has his hands full off this mark. Richard's Sundance is well treated on his best form, while Minella Boys recently took the Sussex National at Plumpton but hasn't had much time to recover. It's possibly worth taking a chance on mud-lover LE BEAU BAI, who lost all chance with a mistake four out in a hurdle race at Cheltenham this month but is back on the same mark as when an emphatic winner at Chepstow in December 2009.
A gruelling test in store, but that will play right into the hands of Le Beau Bai, who returns to fences on a good mark and represents a stable in form. Richard's Sundance is well worth a try over this sort of trip and looks one of the chief threats along with Sussex National winner Minella Boys.

The betting market should shed some light on what can be expected from the 11 newcomers on show but Alan King can't do much wrong at present and it might pay off to side with his five-year-old gelding COLD KNIGHT, who is from a good family and will certainly know his job. Roll The Dice also appeals on paper and a market move for him could be significant, while Atlantic Pearl and Rich Buddy are others of note.
With no form to go on, the market will be a crucial guide, but Cold Knight, Roll The Dice and Atlantic Pearl represent the trainers with the strongest records in such events and are suggested as the trio to beat.
