This looks an open contest but it should pay to side with NOVIKOV, second in a Ludlow claimer last time. He's struggled at times over timber but this looks to be his level and he could take all the beating. Genari, twice a winner in this grade this season, and Bewery Man, winner of a much better race at Sedgefield a year ago, shouldn't be too far away.
Genari is the pick at the weights, but this ground is a concern on debut for yard. With that in mind, Novikov is taken to make the most of a drop in grade, with Uncle Bertie and Bewery Man also considered.

Despite a 7lb penalty for Wednesday's Bangor success, ACKNOWLEDGEMENT looks the one to be on here. He looked untroubled when cantering home by 17 lengths at the Welsh track and should be up to scoring again in what looks an easier contest. Etoile D'Or scored in this grade at Hexham last time but didn't get home by far and carries another 8lb, while Blinded Bythelight and Heroes can fight out the minor honours.
Etoile D'Or and Gobejolly are worthy contenders for Tim Vaughan, but Acknowledgement won with a ton in hand at Bangor earlier in the week and will take some stopping under his penalty.

SAMURAI WAY only tired late when third on his hurdling debut at Exeter and might have won next time - when second over this trip at Lingfield - but for a poor jump at the last. He's on an upward curve and should make it third-time lucky today. Predictive has proved a model of consistency but is still a maiden after ten starts and Bescot Springs, who did nothing wrong when a good second in a Haydock bumper on his debut, might be a safer bet for the forecast.
Bescot Springs stuck to the task really well on bumper debut and, with this test likely to suit, he gets the nod on hurdling bow. Predictive sets the standard but is frustrating, so a bigger threat may emerge from Samurai Way.

Twice a winner over hurdles from five starts, ERNST BLOFELD made an impressive debut over fences when a battling second over 2m 7f here last month. This shorter trip should be in his favour and he can land the spoils now. Hinton Thunderbolt looked a useful sort over timber and could prove the danger on his chasing debut although his 21-month absence is a worry. Big Burrows was going well on his chasing bow over 2m 4f at Haydock before falling. He can be given another chance.
With Hinton Thunderbolt and Masked Man both returning from a lengthy absence and Big Burrows falling on chase bow, the safest proposition looks to be Ernst Blofeld, who can progress from his debut second over fences here recently.

Exeter 2m 6f winner Callerlilly also looks to have plenty of weight here but may benefit for the longer distance. Preference, however, is for CORNELIA. Her only win came over 2m but recent efforts suggests she's crying out for a greater test of stamina and she's taken to score off a handy mark.
Ability to handle underfoot conditions is likely to be at a premium, which is a concern regarding the well-treated Dunbrody House. With that in mind, Cornelia is selected with the step up in trip promising to suit. Tarateeno and Callerlilly should also get involved.

Rosie All Over was a well-held second at Ffos Las last time but is 5lb better off today and looks the one for the forecast, while Qualypso D'Allier unseated at the last at Towcester latest when hampered and can be given another chance.

A summer break seemed to do CASHPOINT the world of good. After two disappointing efforts in the spring, he returned from a seven-month absence to score over 2m at Lingfield. He looks likely to follow up on his first run for new connections. Irish point-to-point winner Carpincho might prove the main danger on his debut in bumpers while Ebur Mac was a decent third at Newcastle on his second start and is another to consider.
Cashpoint stepped up markedly on his debut form when scoring at Lingfield last month and ought to go well under a penalty for his new yard. Ridley Taylor and Ebur Mac are both viable alternatives, whilst Lucky Sunny would enter the reckoning if the market vibes are positive on his debut.
