STELLA ALPINA tries this distance for the first time but has strong form claims. Related to plenty winners, she was a runner-up on three of six runs this year and while she has been frustrating to follow and now drops a furlong in distance, is suited by a sound surface and has plenty of pace. Four-year-old Viamonte is very much proven at this distance and while sure to run his usual consistent race on suitably good ground, is vulnerable to a more capable type. Shadow Of The Moon appeals most of the remainder.

A promising Curragh debut winner where he defeated three subsequent maiden winners, he was outclassed at Newmarket but that was a Group 2 contest and the first two finishers respectively filled first and third-places in Goodwood's subsequent Vintage Stakes. Chesham Stakes runner-up Thesecretadversary was over-turned as 2/13 favourite behind a newcomer at Ayr last month, which is a concern. Although he will appreciate today's likely faster ground, his Royal Ascot form took a knock as winner Humidity finished seventh in the aforementioned Vintage Stakes. This is a below-par handicap but MS OLIVIA has upside potential. She started joint-favourite on her Dundalk debut last February and while well held, raced somewhat green and may have been unsuited by that 5f trip. Well held in two subsequent starts, her latest effort came on soft ground and, notably, she had earlier finished seven lengths ahead of today's rival Shahada Ace in April. The latter has improved since then but is certainly vulnerable to lesser-exposed types. Sugar Club was bought out of a claimer in June and had excuses last time.

With Sam Coen taking 7lb off his back, CRISTAL CLERE could be the answer. A consistent gelding, who has run well all season, the seven-year-old should be suited to this small field. A prominent racer, who finds plenty for pressure, the John Nallen-trained son of Harzand is favourably treated by these weights. In what is almost certain to develop into something of a tactical affair, he is taken to gain a first win of the current campaign. Recent Gowran Park winner Crypto Force has every chance of adding to those gains. Dylan Browne McMonagle, who got the fractions just right on that occasion, is once again in the saddle. An unexposed three-year-old, Nautical Force also has his chance.

BARROGSTOWN GIRL has strong claims here with regular pilot Neve Bennett in the saddle.
