This looks competitive enough for the grade with several of these expected to improve for the transition to chasing. Blazing West brings the most solid experience to the table as she has placed several times over the larger obstacles but she does appear vulnerable to improvers. Kilbarry Marien won for the first time over hurdles at Clonmel last month and that success could easily eke out improvement. Miss Sassie gets a fair amount of weight being a four-year-old and has Davy Russell in the saddle who already has winning experience on her but the vote goes to Punchestown Festival winner MAGIC OF LIGHT as she is entitled to strip fitter for her return at Gowran and looks to have the most potential in the field.

GLENS HARMONY has shown a high level of ability in bumpers and that includes a second-placed finish to a race-fit stablemate in a Listed event at Gowran Park last month. This full-sister to the Cheltenham Festival winner Glens Melody had been off the track for 10 months prior to that run and she can be expected to be sharper today. MONKSLAND should be fully fit for this having had a spin round under Paul Carberry in a charity contest recently and can build on the Coral Cup fourth he produced when last seen in a competitive encounter here. Lieutenant Colonel reverts back to hurdles once again having struggled over the larger obstacles last time and is a danger if at his very best, while Gordon Elliott also saddles Charmix for his first outing in the hands of the Cullentra House handler and it will be interesting to see how he fares having crossed the Irish Sea. Oscar Sam had little luck at Punchestown in the spring when last seen and could be one still with plenty to come.
