ANOTHER CLARET made a promising start to his racing career when third over this trip at Redcar last month (runner-up has won since) and, with improvement expected following that initial experience, he looks the one to beat. Lady Of The House, who is sporting cheekpieces for the first time, has shown enough in previous starts to suggest that she can go close, while The Black Jacobin is worthy of consideration dropping in class.

Causeway Foot and Epic Battle both appear to be heading the right way and warrants respect, while Reggae Star would have definite claims if recapturing the form of her debut second.

The application of both a hood and blinkers almost paid dividends for Stormy Weather at Newcastle 15 days ago and he should give a good account with the same equipment used here, while Grandiloquent is open to plenty of improvement and can build on his seventh place finish at Newbury. The vote, however, goes to past MISS TOPSY TURVY. She is one from one at the North Yorkshire track and the form of her latest second at Salisbury looks rock solid with the third and fourth both winning since.

Watch out for: Stormy Weather (2)

A competitive handicap. Miss Topsy Turvy hasn't been seen since her reappearance second in May but returns with her yard all of a sudden back in form and is just preferred to Sir Michael Stoute's Grandiloquent. Granston and Stormy Weather are a couple of others who should go well.

GENIUS STEP is fancied to land the spoils on his handicap/seasonal debut representing an in-form Mahmood Al Zarooni stable. The form of his 7f maiden success at Goodwood last September looks rock solid with those in behind accumulating six wins between them since and stepping up to 1m for the first time today is unlikely to cause any problems. Nawwaar has been knocking on the door and should be in the shake-up once again, while Ripon scorer Miss Ellany is no forlorn hope.

Satwa Laird is 2lb better off with Hayek for a quarter-of-a-length beating at Ripon latest and ought to reverse the placings, but IT'S A MANS WORLD looks like the one that they all have to beat. He hasn't put a foot wrong in three starts since joining Brian Ellison's stable and, with the runner-up Prophesy franking the form of his latest success at Thirsk, he is taken to defy a further 8lb rise. Steel Stockholder has outside claims off a handy weight.

INGLEBY ANGEL could take some stopping in his bid to complete the hat-trick. He impressively notched up a double last month and won with enough in hand from the reopposing Giorgio's Dragon over 1m here latest to suggest that he can defy a further 6lb rise in the ratings. Richard Fahey's charge is 2lb better off at these weights, however, and won't be too far away, while other in-form players Vital Calling and Ebony Clarets add extra spice to the race.

Watch out for: Giorgio's Dragon (6)

Ingleby Angel may confirm recent placings with Giorgio's Dragon, but he will not find things easy from the outside stall, so it may pay to look elsewhere. The unexposed Shatter represents a yard with a good record in races of this type and could be the one to side with on her return from a break. Ginger Monkey is another who should make his presence felt if proving as effective on turf.
