Auditor chased home a couple of smart rivals at Newbury last July, before routing his field at Windsor later that month. He could be potentially well treated from a mark of 89, but preference is for AMAZONIAN DREAM. The son of Bungle Inthejungle was progressive last season, which culminated with a narrow success over C&D, and his liking for the venue can stand him in good stead this afternoon. Shanko could be involved, though a mark of 86 for his first start on turf looks on the high side, while top-weight Korker heads the remainder.
KORKER proved very well named when enjoying a highly profitable juvenile campaign and is weighted to go in at the first time of asking this term. Dual Chelmsford City scorer Shanko also has more to offer and is next on the list ahead of the returning Suanni and hat-trick seeking Amazonian Dream.

The blue machine of Team Godolphin just keeps rolling on and it may be the same story here, where BLUE TRAIL is taken to gain further success for Charlie Appleby. The colt was held up off the pace in a steadily run contest at Chelmsford on his latest outing, when the winner was up in the vanguard for the entire race. That effort is best forgiven and he looks highly likely to be a major factor. Find finished a place better than the selection that day, in third, and he could be another to progress. Ring Of Beara was last seen finishing fifth in the Tattersalls Stakes at Newmarket last September and he looks interesting now stepped up to the mile, while Wanees looks to complete a hat-trick following two victories in novice company and must enter calculations.
BLUE TRAIL was a touch disappointing last time but he looks fairly treated on the pick of his AW efforts and might be worth another chance with the Charlie Appleby team in such good form. Al Marmar has made a promising start and is feared most for the Andrew Balding team. Wanees should have more to come on the back of his two 7f novice wins last September and is also on the shortlist.

A disappointing turnout for this season's renewal, where MOSTAHDAF makes his eagerly anticipated return for last year's winning yard. John and Thady Gosden's talented colt must give 3lb to both of his rivals, after success in the Darley Stakes on his latest outing, but he can make his class tell and continue his progression. Foxes Tales and Juan Elcano are both blessed with bundles of ability, though, and this is no penalty kick, but they would likely need to take another step forward to lower the colours of the selection.
A poor turnout for this Group 3 and it could become tactical. MOSTAHDAF is clearly the one with the potential to make up into a Group 1 performer given the great progress he showed in 2021 and he can take his record to 6 wins from 7 starts.

Alcohol Free was a dual Group 1 winner last season, landing the Coronation Stakes and Sussex Stakes in good style. She could prove a class apart in this race, but her two top-level successes came in testing conditions and she hasn't been seen since October, so this could be the day to take her on. Johan returned to action with a good win in the Lincoln, but MUTASAABEQ gets the vote. Charles Hills' colt finished in midfield in the 2000 Guineas last season and though subsequent runs in Pattern company left a lot to be desired, he has the benefit of race fitness over the likely favourite after beating Rhoscolyn (third) in a conditions race at Thirsk earlier this month. Sunray Major won on his reappearance last year, but that was in a novice stakes at Chelmsford rather than a race of this quality.
ALCOHOL FREE was most impressive when gaining her third Group 1 in the Sussex Stakes at Goodwood last summer and, with excuses after, she's fancied to hit the ground running on return and capitalise on the drop back into calmer waters. Sunray Major has more to offer in 2022 and is feared, along with Mutasaabeq.

John Gosden won this event in 2017 and 2018 so the Gosden team's pair of Franz Strauss and Frantastic cannot be ignored, particularly the latter following an emphatic novice stakes success at Newcastle. Punchestown maiden winner River Thames is an obvious danger for Aidan O'Brien, while Westover went well in Listed company when last seen, but GOLDSPUR gets the vote. Charlie Appleby has his string firing on all cylinders this term and the son of Dubawi is already a Group 3 winner having landed the Zetland Stakes last year. Not disgraced in the Grand Criterium de Saint-Cloud when last seen, he could land the spoils here. Cash beat a pair of subsequent winners on his sole start last term and cannot be overlooked in what should prove to be a really informative contest.
Even by his lofty standards, Charlie Appleby is in scintillating form and GOLDSPUR, who already has placed form at the highest level to his name, appeals as very much being the one to beat on reappearance. As you would expect from a Classic Trial, all hold a Derby entry, with River Thames feared most.

The Roger Varian stable have made an excellent start to the season and OBLONG SONG could be one to look forward to over middle distances after some promising efforts last autumn. Her narrow defeat at Nottingham just about shades the verdict in terms of form and she is preferred to Wolverhampton winner Emily Upjohn, who is the choice of Frankie Dettori. Atlantis Blue and Follow That Star are open to plenty of improvement as well, but the biggest danger may prove to be newcomer Darmoiselle, who comes from a family her trainer has had plenty of success with.
An interesting novice that looks sure to throw up future winners. OBLONG SONG posted an excellent second at Nottingham when last seen and seems sure to carry on progressing now her stamina is drawn out further, so she receives the vote. Darmoiselle very much catches the eye on paper for the Gosden team and strong market support would have to be taken seriously. Stablemate Emily Upjohn impressed on her debut at Wolverhampton and is seemingly the choice of Dettori.

AL QAREEM has shown steady improvement throughout his career and he got off to the best possible start on turf with a comfortable success at Nottingham earlier in the month. Karl Burke's charge remains unexposed at this distance and could have plenty more improvement forthcoming, as could Bolthole, who has undergone wind surgery since last seen finishing down the field at Newbury in September. Giavellotto can't be faulted for an unbeaten start to his career, but he may find life tougher making his first start on grass.
A tricky finale to unravel despite the small field but preference is for AL QAREEM, who looked well suited by the step up in trip when making a winning start on the turf at Nottingham earlier this month. He still looks a shade rough around the edges and ought to have a bit more to offer. The unbeaten Giavellotto is by no means the finished article either so Marco Botti's charge heads up the dangers, ahead of Monet's Sunrise.
