Confirmation is still awaited that Mawfoor and Whaleweigh Station have trained on as three-year-olds, whilst Mutawathea is a potential improver after landing a modest Lingfield maiden despite running green. Royal Seal reverts to 7f after going sprinting last time and should be far more at home, having landed her maiden over this trip. Reedcutter steps down to this specialist distance for the first time and is also interesting but CAPTAIN BOB has gained both career successes over 7f, revealing a resilient attitude when scoring over C&D latest. Extremity has place claims off a fair mark.

Watch out for: Royal Seal (4)

Captain Bob showed a willing attitude when making all over C&D 3 weeks ago and could prove difficult to peg back if allowed an easy lead, but in terms of potential Mutawathea, Royal Seal and Reedcutter make slighty more appeal, the last named getting the vote dropped to a trip which should suit.

Baltic Knight faces a tough examination conceding considerable weight all round but a repeat of his runner-up run behind Custom Cut in Listed grade a week ago, an admirable effort, should see him involved. Mark Johnston muddies the waters by running three but is a man to be feared in such high-grade handicaps, with Busatto possibly the best of the Middleham trio, but another chance is afforded to RUSSIAN REALM. The Dansili colt remains open to improvement after only eight starts and may be better suited by this additional furlong off an acceptable mark for top connections.

Watch out for: Baltic Knight (1)

Velox shaped well in a valuable handicap at Epsom last month and looks a typical improver for his yard, but preference is for Russian Realm, who wasn't seen to best effect when well backed for the Buckingham Palace at Royal Ascot and is worth another chance. Burano is potentially well handicapped but he needs things to fall his way, while Gabrial's Kaka is reliant on a sound pace.

Ryan Moore takes the ride with James Doyle claimed for Radiator, who looks the main danger after being far from disgraced last time in the Coronation Stakes at the Royal meeting.

A terrific renewal incorporating a mouthwatering clash of the generations and THE FUGUE is taken to supplement her impressive success in the Prince Of Wales's Stakes at Royal Ascot, when her trademark turn of foot put matters to bed most decisively. The absence of rain would embellish her credentials further and John Gosden's mare can confirm her status as the leading performer of her generation over this trip. Verrazano's formline behind Toronado at Royal Ascot reads particularly well and he'll be a major threat if confirming his ability over 10f, whilst it would be folly to eliminate 2000 Guineas winner Night Of Thunder and Derby runner-up Kingston Hill, although both are unproven over 1m2f. Trading Leather was most disappointing on his Newmarket reappearance but last year's Irish Derby winner has every chance if recovering his best, having been given a good rest by Jim Bolger.

Any rain would be a negative for The Fugue and a huge positive for Kingston Hill, but as things stand The Fugue looks the one to beat after her impressive win in the Prince of Wales’s Stakes at Royal Ascot last month. The ground is immaterial to 2000 Guineas winner Night of Thunder, who rates as a huge threat over a trip he promises to stay.

DOMINATION could not be better named after the way he treated his field in the Ascot Stakes last month but has also proved effective at this trip and can back up that Royal success. Some improvement is required but the manner of his victory indicated he's more than capable of taking the rise into Listed grade in his stride. Whiplash Willie is an obvious danger having confirmed his ability to operate at Group level behind Brown Panther last time, whilst Nicky Henderson's Earth Amber cannot be discounted, especially with quicker ground likely to assist her cause.

A competitive staying event with not much to choose between most of the field. The ground is likely to have a big say on the outcome on the day, with Whiplash Willie, Earth Amber and Nearly Caught all ideally preferring some rain.
