Richard Hannon's charge PASTELLO gets the nod in this opener following her encouraging third behind Mr Harmoosh (won again since) at Windsor last month. A reproduction of that effort could be enough to see the filly score this afternoon. Fly By Nelly went close on her latest outing over 1m at Chepstow and it was her most encouraging run for some time. Levitation should have come on for her seasonal bow and could be worth a second look.
Gallego can usually be relied upon to give his running round here, but a chance is taken on handicap debutant Loden, who could well be a different proposition entirely in handicaps this year. Transfer is interesting at likely bigger odds.

DIAMOND PENNY has come on plenty since his debut back in June and got off the mark in impressive style over 7f at Newmarket last month. He appears to go well on all surfaces so should have no problem this afternoon. The two obvious dangers come from Richard Hannon's yard. General Synod was narrowly held over 7f at Newbury last month and should come on plenty for the run, while his stablemate Cai Shen was a winner on his latest start and cannot be ruled out today.
The 3 newcomers all boast attractive pedigrees, but they'll have to be useful to get the better of the experienced Hannon pair, with General Synod preferred to Cai Shen.

New River ran notably green on her debut over 7f at Newmarket at the start of August. She responded well late on when the penny dropped late on and she's certainly one for the shortlist today. Ralph Beckett's SYLVESTRIS gets the nod, however, after two placed finishes in her two career starts. She should appreciate this slight step back in trip and should be on the board here. Newcomers Sultah and Tidal Run are not without a chance.
Aneedah and Sultah are a couple of interesting newcomers, but Sylvestris has run to a fair level when placed both starts, and her latest effort has worked out extremely well. She can put that experience to good use.

An open looking maiden here and it could pay to take a chance with John Dunlop's filly, TAMEEN. She was far from disgraced when fourth over 7f at Newmarket on her debut and her jockey suggested there was plenty more to come. Saeed Bin Suroor has been in good form recently and his newcomer, Khawlah, should definitely be taken seriously. Emperor's Princess represents the Richard Hannon yard, who have been in fine form with their juveniles all year, and is another with claims.
Tameen seems sure to improve for her opening effort, but has a plethora of choicely-bred newcomers to contend with. Khawlah, Wilaya and Emperor's Princess make most appeal in that order.

Connections will have been a touch disappointed that MARGOT DID failed to take the Lowther Stakes at York recently and she should be able to bounce back today. She's finished in the first two (two wins) in all five of her career starts and will expected to give another good account here. The Ralph Beckett-trained Ishbelle is not without a chance. She completed a double with a success over 6f at Windsor last month and must be respected, while Rimth finished behind the selection in third at York and can go close once again.
There are reasons to think Rimth will get closer to Margot Did this time, but the latter still sets a clear standard and looks the one to side with. Sweet Cecily is perhaps next best.

LA DE TWO looks the one to beat in the finale. He has scored on his last two starts and won with more than a little in hand on his reappearance at York back in July. He should have more than enough to land this despite a short break. Bauer returns following a 667 day absence but he is an interesting prospect. Second in the Melbourne Cup back in 2008, it would be foolish to dismiss him from the reckoning. Free Agent needs to be at his best but is not without a chance.
La De Two has clearly had his issues to be seen so rarely, but the way he powered clear of a fair field at York in July marked him down as a very smart prospect and it would be disappointing if he couldn't take this. Free Agent makes most appeal for the forecast spot.
