Although he was sent off favourite for his debut over Sandown's testing 5f, RACY found Wellington Fair too good but still ran well enough to suggest he will soon be winning. The extra furlong here should be made to measure. Chief danger on form is Ghost, who has been placed at Newmarket and Windsor over this distance. Besty ran well at huge odds when a close fourth at Beverley and Mark Johnston saddles an interesting newcomer in Karaka Jack.
Market confidence behind Karaka Jack on debut should be noted, but this looks a decent opportunity for the well-bred Racy to open his account. Ghost is comfortably the pick of the remainder.

MISS SMILLA ran very well at the St Leger meeting when staying on strongly to finish under 3L behind Audacity Of Hope in a 7f nursery. The winner could be something special, so that was a good effort and Kevin Ryan's filly should be suited by this mile. In The Slips was a shock winner of a nursery at the same meeting but there is a big difference between 6f and today's mile, while Knockenduff (engaged to run at Redcar yesterday) proved his stamina when third to Underworld Dandy over 1m at Kempton.
In The Slips created a good impression when galloping away from her rivals at Doncaster recently. She should relish this longer trip and can follow up, at the chief expense of Calatrava Cape and Refuse To Wait.

He carries a 6lb penalty for a narrow win at Beverley (Peninsular War well behind) but Nigel Tinkler's game sort can rise to the occasion. Ingleby Star will make a bold bid to defy top weight despite a below par run last time, while Select Committee keeps his form well and was a good runner-up at Hamilton.
Mr Wolf is back on his last winning mark and will be hard to peg back from a favourable inside draw at his favourite venue. Peninsular War, Select Committee and King Of Swords are others that shouldn't be far away.

LAAHEB failed by a neck to land a hat-trick when beaten by Broomielaw at Newmarket, but Michael Jarvis' colt can get back on the winning trail here after a near 8-week absence. The stable won this race last year with Fragrancy. Larkham boasts some solid form over this trip and last time at Newbury was a game winner of a five-horse race, while William Blake was noted doing all his best work at the end of a 1m 3f handicap at Kempton.
Laaheb, Larkham and Do The Strand are all progressive types and the former gets a narrow vote to regain the winning thread.

The in-form Michael Jarvis stable can land a quick double here with MUSAAFER, who was no match for Mendip over this trip at Kempton but he showed plenty of ability to recover from a poor start. Godolphin newcomer Florensky commands respect but the lack of racecourse experience may just find out this son of the mighty Sinndar. Finest Reserve saved his best effort for last time when he chased home Manhhattan Fox at Goodwood, beaten just over a length.
The market will reflect the esteem in which Florensky is held, but he will have to be well above average to thwart the claims of Musaafer, who has bags of potential judged on his debut run. Finest Reserve looks best of the rest.

VALID POINT has been expertly placed by Sir Mark Prescott and a five-timer looks very much on the cards for this fast improving gelding. All tracks seem to come alike and he will be as fit as a fiddle after winning easily at Hamilton on Monday. Princess Flame is a consistent mare who has won over this C&D and has stamina to spare and Chalice Welcome (engaged to run at Redcar yesterday) came good with a 20/1 victory over a furlong further at Yarmouth last week and should go well again.
Valid Point is the obvious one here having taken his winning streak to 4 in some style the other day, but he'll be at cramped odds as a result. The value may instead lie with Princess Flame, who bids to repeat her win in this for the same apprentice in 2008. Jeer is taken to fill the frame.
