ZEALOUS looked some way ahead of his mark when making an impressive winning handicap debut at Haydock on Friday and it comes as no surprise to see him turned out quickly under a 6lb penalty. Assuming he is able to cope with this quick turnaround, he is very hard to oppose and should be able to win again. Toboggan's Fire ran a cracker to finish second at Nottingham and can go well again, while there could be better to come from Catastrophe now he goes handicapping for the first time.

Watch out for: Toboggan's Fire (7)

ZEALOUS forged clear when making a successful handicap debut at Haydock on Friday and this could be a good opening again providing the run doesn't come too quickly. Beverley Bullet and Airton both remain with potential and appeal in a competitive nursery.

There were plenty of positives to be derived from Alyaa's racecourse introduction at Newmarket, while Mr Orange ran well here last month and is another potential improver.

PAMUSHANA has been edging closer to the target in recent starts and didn't appear to do a great deal wrong when only finding one too strong at Ripon last time. Armed with stall number one this afternoon, she looks worth keeping onside for the in-form Richard Fahey stable. Hamilton winner Treasury Notes has to enter calculations again but this looks a deeper race, so York runner-up Dance King can give the selection most to think about.

As so many do, TREASURY NOTES has improved since joining David O'Meara. The lightly-raced colt shaped as though this stiffer test would suit when narrowly prevailing at Hamilton and, with further progress a distinct possibility, he looks the one to be on. Aldeburgh will be a potent threat if reproducing the form of his latest AW effort back on turf, while Dance King is also on the shortlist.

BEAST MODE found the likes of Foundation and Deauville too hot to handle in the Royal Lodge but was so impressive when scoring at Newcastle previously and he remains a smart prospect. This looks a better spot for him at this stage and he is fancied to resume his progression. There are no shortage of promising youngsters on show, though, and Thanksfortellingme has impressed greatly in winning his two starts to date, while Chinoiseries showed a liking for give in the ground when successful on her debut at Chepstow. Percy Street looked good when winning around here last month and is another open to further progress.

CHINOISERIES impressed when making a winning debut in the mud at Chepstow and can take this step up in class in her stride. Reetaj has had plenty of chances now but he is most consistent and ran well again when third at Chester last month. He seems sure to give his running again, but slight preference is for ATAMAN, who has placed in his three starts to date and is open to slightly more improvement than the former. John Gosden has a strong record at this track and Kempton runner-up Persian Breeze is another with solid form claims and plenty of experience, too. She completes the shortlist.

Watch out for: Reetaj (10)

PERSIAN BREEZE is given one more chance with much of her form reading well. Reetaj and Ataman should also figure, though one at a bigger price to consider is fairly useful jumper Sharp Rise.

High Secret made little impact in the Cesarewitch last time but has enjoyed a really good season on the whole and goes well with a bit of cut in the ground. He isn't to to be overlooked, but NEARLY CAUGHT fared much better in the Cesarewitch, beaten under two lengths, and the 3lb he receives from the former is more than enough to tip the scales in his favour. The rest have plenty to find but Medicine Hat won a handicap in good style here two weeks ago and might fare best of the rest.

Very hard to oppose NEARLY CAUGHT who has plenty going for him on these terms. Medicine Hat won a handicap in good style over C&D earlier this month and could prove to be a bigger danger than High Secret.

Nottingham victor Flashy Queen and Soul Brother, a winner at Pontefract two starts back, are others to note but a chance is taken on JACK LUEY, a prominent racer who has enjoyed a decent season and should be suited by this track.
