Brian Meehan's charge was squeezed for room late on at Nottingham last time and the switch to nursery company could be just what is required.
Bedlam and Free House both make some appeal, while Twelve Strings could leave his maiden form behind now going handicapping, but Dubious Escapade should be suited by this stiffer test of stamina and has more to give.

Glen Ellyn is likely to improve on his debut effort at Nottingham, but if DESERT PHILOSOPHER shows some progression from his debut outing, he could be the one to beat. Kevin Ryan's charge was beaten just two lengths into third at Warwick and could go two better here. The booking of Paul Hanagan to ride Ann Duffield's Midnight Tryst on her debut is interesting, while Adrian Nicholls prefers Release The Funds over his father's other runner, Duke Liam.
Byronic Hero has the best piece of form but whether he can reproduce it in view of his efforts since is open to question, and Desert Philosopher is preferred after his promising debut. Grey Danube is another to consider.

The widest draw of all looks against Fol Hollow, who tends to cut out the running but may just use up too much energy getting in front early. The prospect of a fast pace should be perfect for COMPTONSPIRIT, though, and he could give Paul Hanagan a valuable win in the race for the jockeys' title. A winner here three starts ago, the Compton Place mare may have been bogged down in the tacky ground at Bath last time. Berberana and Julius Geezer are other major chances.
Haajes had little chance from his draw at York last time but still figures on a competitive mark and things ought to go more his way here. Dickie Le Davoir and Lucky Numbers should also go well, as should Spinatrix assuming the ground is not too lively.

Stipulate ran too keenly when stepped up to Listed company at Haydock and could go close if settling better, while Godolphin's Al Saham did nothing wrong when scoring on his debut and there should be more to come. The hat-trick seeking Cravat and Epsom winner Mister Music are also likely to have a say in the outcome.
Salford Art and Letsgoroundagain have the best form coming into this but Al Saham looked a decent prospect at Newcastle and is taken to improve past them.

Dan Buoy makes his sixth visit to Pontefract this season and the trailblazing gelding is sure to keep everyone honest, especially as he's back to the same mark as when third here last month. Descaro is another regular visitor but he has looked out of sorts recently, while Newcastle winner River Dragon is in top trim but needs give underfoot to be seen at his best. DR FINLEY was well beaten behind River Dragon at Newcastle but the prospect of better ground gives him every chance of reversing those placings.

Cadore is proving expensive to follow and remains a maiden after eight starts, but the form of his penultimate start gives him a chance here.
